Official USC Decision Thread

Are there any trustee scholars out there?

madkapitolist, I'm 16 as well, and I didn't skip two grades. just one. But I'm bummed because I'll graduate from USC at 20. SO I won't even be able to drink legally!

Same here, guidez! I skipped 1 grade, so I'm born in '89 just like you.

About the drinking part: Just a little sip...! :p

Are you going to SC next year for5aken?

DECISION: ACCEPTED!! (To Annenberg)

Subjective:

Essays: Thought they were good, showed alot of personality

Teacher Recs: Read some of them, they were really good

Counselor Rec: Dunno, she didn't know me for very long since they switched counselors on us our senior year =(

Hook (if any): Really committed to journalism, good writer, 5 on AP English Language (hard to get, apparently?)

State or Country: Texas

School Type: Very public, huge, 3000 students

Ethnicity: White

Gender: Female

Other Factors: Alot of EC's... varsity swimming for 4 years (Captain), Theatre (lead roles), Editor-in-chief of Yearbook, Had articles published in the Dallas Morning News
Comments: FINALLY an acceptance from somewhere out of state, I'm really thrilled... now if only I could find a way to front the outrageous tuition..

EVERYONE! I'M IN!! WAHOOO!!!

okay I was so happy, I cried. tears of joy baby =)

INTO ANNENBERG COMMUNICATION...but I think I'm going to change that to Major in Marketing, Minor in Communication. I would post my stats...BUT I DON'T REMEMBER AND I DON'T CARE ANYMORE BECAUSE I'M IN!!

EVERYONE CELEBRATE~exciting (well, and some not so exciting) news!!

and pinkdillo--ah, tuition is CRAZY i know! I was deciding between ucla (ew, what?) and USC and I've been hard core trojan for life, so ucla was hard for me to switch to. the cost is a big factor for my family as well, but if you think about it, it is totally worth the money. amazing education. amazing. great location for jobs/internships (basically, you are guaranteed a job out of college...we hope!), amazing school spirit, trojan family = connections/networking (i love it! when i wasn't even in yet, i felt the love hah), the classes are very intimate/private and you get a lot of one on one time (when I took a private tour around Annenberg, the classes and technology were SO amazing...not as many classes of like, 100-300 like other schools), and people are HAPPY. USC is a great university..you will love it. AND this is what I"m doing: since it's so expensive, I'm applying for scholarships like crazy (you should be eligible for a lot!), you could work during school, and...I"m trying to graduate SC in as little time as possible so as to save you know, about $20K or so....anyway, BEST OF LUCK! and I see you are from Texas, so as long as you aren't a LONGHORN....just kidding =)

YAYYY FIGHT ON GO TROJANS!!!!!!!!!!

hey, looks like there's a lot of us who skipped grades. I jumped the 8th grade, so I'm 16 years old (for now). I just wish some of the top colleges (like ivy league) would take my age into consideration. Anyways, USC is my now my backup, but most likely will be the school I attend (I was unluckily rejected from all ivy league schools).

Am writing about my daughter who is busy studying for AP tests. :) I'm trying to help her with research on the boards to aid her in making her decision.

Received "no scholarship" letter early this year, then acceptance received March 2nd. Is an early March acceptance any possible indicator re a positive financial aid package? Money will be the key issue for our family of 6 -- a high EFC ($19000) yet most Californians will know that doesn't really go that far after mortgage, taxes, etc.

Also accepted to and considering UCSB (Regent's Scholar), Wake Forest, Redlands, and Wheaton (IL). Waitlisted by Williams and going to withdraw in favor of USC or another option.

Forget that "relatives in North Carolina" comment, that was accidentally cut and pasted from a Wake Forest thread. :)

anyone else extremely excited to go to school here? i still cant believe i got in, and there are just going to be so many opportunities and chances to meet new people and do new things! and what better place than LA? god i cant wait!!!
