Official USC Decision Thread

i'm so nervous i haven't heard anything yet

i have 2280 SAT (800 writing, 750 CR, 730 math)
SAT2s: 760 (math2c), 730 (us history), 710 (lit)
GPA (unweighted): 3.85
ECs: senior class president, sophomore class vice president, junior class historian, member of Contra Costa Childrens Chorus (an international touring choir)
Awards/Honors: National Honor Society, National Merit Commended Scholar
Job/Work experience: Kumon (tutor, 2.5 years), Coldstone (shift manager, March 2005- present)

My essays were great and I know my teacher recs were too. I also have a very rare lung disease that requires hospitalization about twice a year and necessitates an oxygen tank.

I haven't heard anything yet- does that mean I have no shot at trustee or presidential scholarships? I live in northern california, and nobody from my school has heard back either.

you look as if you're on par with the others who were accepted.

Just to give hope to everyone who is waiting (as I am one of you).... last year a first wave of acceptances was sent on Feb 1st, then Feb 8th... then they waited 'til March to send out more. So maybe at the end of this week they'll send another wave? we can only hope!

awesome! thanks dawn that really does give me hope..

an update for all of you:
i just called the usc admissions office, where i asked what you all have been asking: will more scholarship admissions be sent out? he said that (as some of you have been saying) they are being sent out in waves, so just because you haven't received anything yet doesn't mean you're out of luck! he then offered to look up the status of my application.... and after 2 anxiety-filled minutes (for me, not him) told me "sorry, i can't go any further, i can't say anything more... just give us a little time!" confused, I asked, "oh i see. is there nothing yet?" He replied "no... not nothing.. just give us a little time." I have no idea what these means, but hopefully its good and hopefully i'll find out by next week!

p.s. rachel212, thanks for giving me a little boost of confidence...i hope so.

no problemo...

so that means reg. decisions will be sent out around the last week of feb/first week of march? that's sweet!

mmm that depends.
it means that they still have more scholarship admissions to send out.

regular decisions will be sent out until the end of march.

I just got my scholarship letter. I'm being interviewed for presidential, which was more than I expected because of my relatively low CR score (660).

Anyway, the explore USC overnight thing looks like fun.

sarahjhansen, so are all the people who have recieved letters definately interviewing for a scholarship?

CzarDerivative...you got your scholarship letter already? Ack..I didn't get one yet....oh goodness, now I'm freaking out. I want my scholarship letter!!!

Are the only scholarships that require interviews the Trustee, Presidential, and International thing?

Heh... relax guys. I live 25 minutes from USC. They probably just mailed the scholarship letters yesterday or today.
