[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: They were good, I didn't really write new ones for USC though
[] Teacher Recs: All solid; one from English teacher, one from Spanish teacher, one from Chem teacher (last one went for the Bac/MD..don't know if they even read it)
[] Counselor Rec: Really nice, I imagine
[] Hook (if any): Siemens Westinghouse Regional Finalist, FWIW
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: California
[] School Type: Public that has insane UC/USC admit rates
[] Ethnicity: Armenian
[] Gender: Male
[/ul]Other Factors:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars: Some clubs and church activity, research last two years
[] Why I think I was accepted/deferred: Pretty much better than USC average stats in every area
[] Other thoughts: I logged into Explore USC and didn't see anything about Trustee/Presidential scholarship info—I am a NMS semifinalist so I should at least be seeing the Presidential scholarship info. Maybe they're not posting it there anymore/it's not up yet?[/ul]

Congrats VietAnn! I'm going 27-28 as well..maybe I'll see you there! :)

Decision: Accepted

SAT IIs: 730 Math 2, 730 Lit
GPA: 3.9 UW
Rank: 3 out of 23

Subjective:
Essays: Ok, but they were pretty plain
Counselor Rec: Pretty good

State or Country: New Mexico
School Type: Public
Ethnicity: White/Spanish
Gender: Male
Other Factors:
Extracurriculars: Very active in FFA, BPA, and 4-H with success on the national level
Why I think I was accepted/deferred: Pretty good stats and regional diversity
Other thoughts: I logged into Explore USC as well to find out that I had been accepted (The mail takes forever out here in the boonies...) Unfortunately, there was no info up about Presidential or Trustee...supposedly NMS gets half tuition, so maybe they think that is enough and an interview is not necessary. Hope I'm wrong though!

moneylicious, did you just recieve this today?

nah man, i haven't got it in the mail yet....but i logged into that experience usc site (link is on page 5 of this thread) and the next page congratulated me for being admitted....but there was no scholarship mention (i'm crossing my fingers and hoping they just haven't updated that part yet)

I WISH THE SECOND "WAVE" WOULD COME!!!!

no one at my school/in my area has heard ANYTHING yet.

i also want to know when the second wave comes. maybe they send them tomorrow b/c the last wave was last friday i think

moneylicious. when u logged on to the experience usc website which id number did u use?

yeah, i hope so too!!!

when i talked to the admissions office on tuesday, the guy offered to see if there was anything sent to me in the latest wave (the one last friday). he looked, and then told me "I can't go any further; I can't say anything more, sorry." So I was like, "oh, nothing yet?" And he said "No, not nothing! just give us a little time..."
so hopefully "a little time" means tomorrow! : )

i have a 1990 SAT, but my SAT IIs are 800 IIC and 750 Physics with a GPA of 4.13 now. i hope the SAT I isnt the thing holding me back

i have 2280 SAT, 760 Math IIC, 730 US History, and a 3.85 UW GPA (i did poorly freshmen year, but had an upward trend)
Several ECs, including senior class president, national merit commended scholar, NHS, and several other things.
my interview went great, and my essays were fantastic.
so.... fingers crossed???

(sorry, this post may seem pompous... i'm just trying to reassure myself that i'll do okay!)

^ Your stats are pretty good...so I'd say you have a good chance of getting in, unless your teacher recs were terrible.

UCBUCB, your stats are pretty good tool..I don't know how heavily USC emphasizes on SAT's, though...maybe someone else on the thread can help you on that :)

thanks misoobishi!

i've got my fingers crossed for one of those scholarship letters too.. but i'd be grateful for an acceptance! : ) hopefully we'll find out TOMORROW.

my interview was awesome too! well, yeah i live in norcal so it takes till monday to come. ughh well i guess ill have to wait a little longer
