Good luck to all of you guys going to UCI, I know quite a few people who will also be attending. As for me, I’m going to UCSD. Maybe I’ll see some of you there.

Hopefully, we will all find something fabulous at the schools we will be attending. And if we really decide it’s just not for us, then transferring it is.

Hey nagooya, I’ve followed your passion from the get-go and was so hoping for a happy ending in the appeal process. Here’s the deal: the best path in life is not a straight line and while this chapter did not go your way, I have no doubt that life will bring amazing things to you. And I still hope some of these amazing things will be at USC. But the amazing part is inside you. USC would be lucky to share that.

um…does anyone knows what SCP is (structured curriculum program)? because apparently the appeal says that
i was admitted into scp…is this for people who they think will fail/do poorly???

Thanks you guys. Everyone on here is soooo supportive. It seems like many of us will be attending UCI in the fall. I’ve already made my appointment to meet with the adcom to discuss transferring so I hope that works out… hahaha. Good luck to all of you and i hope you enjoy your freshman year of college in the fall!

Congrats to everyone who got in!! To all those who didn’t, if USC is really the right school for you we’ll see you in 2010.

Also, all you new spring admits should join the spring admit facebook group. It has got around 100 people in it and I think it will be a great way to communicate when the spring gets closer.

so I still havent heard back from usc yet. and my last status update was may 14…
but seems like everyone who heard back yesterday got accpeted…so should i just expect to be rejected again,?
it’s so weird cuz they said they would let us know on the 14th via email, but i still havent heard back yet. i called the admin office but they r closed today.
guys. im so nervous, but yet i dont think i got accepted.
did any of you guys hear back today?

I got rejected again.
im still sorta bitter tho because I really don’t know why.
I did full IB program, and had decent grades.
my gpa was 4.35 weighted
and I took 6 AP tests, passed all of them.
and my ACT score was 29. i took it twice, and my highest scores were

35 - math
31 - english
30 - reading
26 - science
12 - writting.

and I had over 200 community service hrs and was actively involved with my school events.
i started/organized/performed two big fundraisting rock concerts at my school to raise money for African children… which raised over $18,000.
i mean… i see my friends who got into usc with almost nothing… and that just makes me mad and weird .

So frustrating… sorry yjpark0226. You are right- it doesn’t make sense. Just know that you are not alone. There are many in your boat. Good luck wherever you decide to go.

I am really sorry to hear the news. My sense is that admissions is looking for very social, outgoing, leadership types-so if you decide to appeal, try to present a positive, well liked personality.
