I spent 3 years attending mainly De Anza and sometimes Foothill ( classes are easier to get at FH and sometimes they have better professors) to complete all my GEs and all my Nursing Pre-Reqs. I spent two straight summers taking classes like 1-2. Right now might be even harder for people to get classes…

---- as for USF. ahhhhhhhh that’s such a relief Turtle! I never got an email or any other mail that would indicate my admittance. T__T that’s why I’m so confused with just this piece of card… Maybe they mixed up my mail and I just didn’t receive the email lolols.

Also, I never RSVP to anything until I got that card haha.

-- De Anza is a good college btw. I always made sure I had the best professors (if given option out of bunch ) and managed to get decent grades except here and there lol.
I didn’t do commit to anything much at De Anza except for occasional club here and there with my friend at Red Cross and such. I just focused on my volunteer at Stanford Hospital. They do have quite a lot of activities though!!

I will update you guys on my confirmation tomorrow!

Thanks so much!
Best wishes for everybody :)

Hm, that does sound confusing. That’s unfortunate. I guess these things happen, but there should be more of a defined line of communication. Do you know your AdRep at USF? Do you plan to call them tomorrow or just the Admissions Office?

I would hope that you were accepted and were just lost in the shuffle.

I’ve heard some good things about De Anza and may use it as an option for transfer later as well - if I decide not to go to a 4 year university that I’ve been accepted to right away (money would be the issue for such an instance).

Thanks turtle.
Yeah I hope so too!! I tried not to think of all the possible mistakes they could have made… One where they might have peeled the wrong sticker ( with my name and address on it) and stuck it on my postcard.

Also, is it possible for non admitted students to successfully RSVP for the April admitted students visiting program? I wonder… Cuz I had to put my USF I’d in and well, I got confirmed! I haven’t tested out my theory.

No… I don’t know what an AdRep is! Who should I call to confirm my status tomorrow? I was originally going to call thr admissions, but I’m not sure if I should call someone else.
I already emailed one of the admission people too… So I guess which ever comes first!!

I’ve checked my spam too… Nothing LOL

Yeah! If you join the honors program at De Anza, you’ll get priority registration right behind international students ( who are like prioritized above everyone) pr you can join a sport ( too time consuming) the honors program is pretty easy I would say.

Speak with Randy Claros ( transfer counselor) if you ever have ANY questions. He’s the best of them all!!

Oh, I would get priority registration without honors or sports because I am a veteran. But thanks for the heads up and I’ll save that transfer counselor’s name for future reference if I need it.

Oh yeah! I emailed Mark a few times, but I emailed back this guy from thr Admin department named, Matt. He’ll probably forward it to one of them if needed.

I haven’t received thr official username. I believe that is given with the official letter of acceptance. I just have my ID number that I used to check the ‘status’ of my transcripts and such for USF. I’m so anxious!

That’s fantastic! You’ll have a great start for sure. Yes, Randy is the best and so helpful. Just try to planout your courses ahead of time so you don’t make a mistake with classes you dont need, etc. he told me how to ‘kill two birds with one stone’ once. Like converging something with Foothill. I’m not completely sure, but yeah double check.

Thanks so much for your time!

Also- what are you majoring in? It seems you got into many good schools, but the financial issue is what’s holding you back. Colleges are just getting more and more expensive!

I forgot I did had a username!
I just signed in and I’m trying to find where there might be an indicatiion to my acceptance? Haha I’m looking around now.

Is it a sure thing that if I am able to log into my USF connect account I am an admitted student??!!

Lisa, I’d say for sure you should be considered an accepted student if you can log onto USFConnect and view the tabs for ‘Student Redords’, ‘Financial Aid’ and what have you. I forget exactly what’s on there, but it’s also where you can log into a GMail related email account that is associated with your USF email (firstname.lastname@usfca.edu, for example). They only give those user names out in the acceptance letter, from what I can tell. They don’t go taking the time to make a USFConnect account for EVERY applicant because 1/2 would not be used if they were not accepted. So, if this is the case, then congratulations!

I plan to do a business-type major. Accounting if it’s offered at whichever school I’d attend.

I was accepted February 17th!! I applied late December though since I opted out of writing the optional essay.

SAT: 640-CR 660-M 670-W
GPA: 3.98 unweighted, 4.3ish weighted
I’ve taken 12 AP classes, and passed all taken so far. too lazy to list
I’m involved in NHS(secretary), Multicultural, Hospital Volunteer, Band, Yearbook Editor, Newspaper Editor, Science Olympiad
I wrote my personal statement on growing up with my disabled mother

So I love this school but I need aid or it’s a no go. I already received merit but does anyone know when need based aid comes out??

Well since I never got my ‘official letter of acceptance’ packet or the email… Then that means I never got my username from those.

I found my username through the USFconnect site where you can find your username through putting in your ID, which was given to me at the time i applied ( how you checked if they received your transcripts and rec. letter)

So yeah… Does that make a difference? I suppose anyone could find their username through the system? Or maybe the given username is different?
But I was able to see those ‘Student’ activity stuff… But of course all were kind of blank because I’m not enrolled yet.

LOL sorry I appreciate your support and comments, but I guess im trying to just find assuring reasons. We’re getting closer to tomorrow though! We’ll definitely know by then!

But thanks! I feel closer to feeling like an admitted student with each reply you give me! Haha

oh nice! I hope you find the right school for you that fits all your needs! Update us?

Thanks so much again!

And congrats Schermeg! Hope you receive the aid you need.

Still sounds like things should be fine and it’s probably just better to wait until tomorrow than keep speculating. I actually really hope you are accepted though. It seems like it has been a long thing coming for you. That perseverance is great.

schermeg, I have talked with USF FA Office EXTENSIVELY over the last couple weeks and they keep telling me that their need based FA notifications will come via email around the 28th of March and definitely by April 1st, so about 2 & 1/2 weeks from now. You should receive some sort of email notification to check your USFConnect account to view your PROPOSED FA types and amounts. I say proposed because they are not the final amounts. Your final amounts may differ if you need to do some sort of verification from that notification. Like verify some tax forms to the school and such. IF you filed your FAFSA after you (or your parents) filed their taxes, or used the IRS data retrieval tool, then that will expedite the verification process and the proposed numbers you see in the original notification will be EXTREMELY close, if not exact, to the numbers you get after verification. They mentioned forms of need based are obviously Cal Grant, Pell Grant, Sub or UnSub Stafford Loans, and their ‘magical pool of money’ (FA adviser’s words, not mine) that’s basically like the charity grant/scholarship money from USF themselves. Congratulations on receiving any merit awards so far though. You’ve earned it and hopefully it helps in some way.

Thanks so much Turtle!! I really truly appreciate all that you’ve done for me to try to convince me that I am in!

Haha yeah… T__T I’m a fourth year (21yrs old) and am now finally transferring ( with or without Nursing acceptance) . I finished my nursing Pre-reqs after 3 yrs and last year I didn’t get admitted at all so I thought I’d wait another year to give Nursing one more try!!

you’ve tried your best!
We’ll see tomorrow :)

Hey Turtle! Just wanted to update and tell you that I was able to confirm my acceptance today! Turns out for BSN nursing they send the email out later and include the ‘official packet’ as a PDF (go green!) I don’t know if the postcard was supposed to be received earlier, but I guess you were right all along! Thanks for sticking by me and believing I was in when I was on edge!

I got lot of help at the all nurses.com site where I was able to meet other students waiting for the same thing. Two others also got their postcards first!
