I realize now that the tweet was not directly from USF admissions but from someone who works there. I feel a little weird about posting a link to an individual’s tweet. But if you do a twitter search for University of San Francisco you will find it. It was about 5pm last night. The tweet contains a link to the same Instagram photo that appears this morning on the USF admissions blog.
Well the class size at USF is around 2500 per grade level (frosh, soph etc.) 10,000 total students. So I’m thinking the 18,000 includes under grad, grad transfer first time students, everyone. And I also saw an instagram picture of admissions people including transfer admission team saying that admissions were sent out.
Mail arrived here (SF Bay Area) and no letter from USF (freshman applicant). If admissions sent the letters at the end of the day yesterday there might not have been time for the post office to process them, so I expect he’ll receive his letter tomorrow.
@Drumhead415, if you want to crunch numbers: Two years ago USF received 14,844 freshman applications and 1,904 transfer applications for a total of 16,748. The 18,000 USF just mailed would not have included anyone already admitted ED/EA. I don’t think it’s possible to calculate whether or not transfer applicant letters are included. Application numbers change year to year, and as you can see in this article USF has had a large spike in applications over the past decade:

Yes, I live in the bay area. I got the mail today and there was nothing from USF. I was asking because I am trying to figure out the parking situation since I will be commuting.
Yeah if the parking situation is manageable I would prefer commuting too. I think we are just unnecessarily waiting . The transfer decisions as the admissions counselors suggested may arrive this month end.
Just go my mail. Nothing from USF. USF has a spring break from Monday so cannot expect anything for another week now. Anyone from San Jose received any mails today ?
My S’s letter from USF just arrived, he’s a freshman applicant. I’ve seen a few tweets today from other kids getting acceptances and they are all high schoolers. So I think your info from admissions was correct, it doesn’t look like the transfer decisions were mailed. I wish you all the best of luck, USF is an incredible school and I hope you will be admitted and enjoy your experience there.
