Post yours stats if you we’re wait listed and if you were capped, paced,or rejected and are appealing share stats.
I appealed to be considered as a transfer student. My appeal was accepted. I am now being considered as a Freshman Transfer Student for Fall 2016.
Are you graduating from high school in 2016?
@davitbar yes!
Did you take college courses during high school? Im not understanding how applying as a transfer is different.
He went to an early college high school where you earn a lot of credit. Because the credits are earned as Hugh school credits, the applicant can apply as a freshman. And it appears he can also apply as a transfer. Because his class was small, his rank was not auto admit. He may have a better shot as a transfer if his college GPA is good.
that makes sense, thanks!
I’ve moved up from top 9% to top 6.9% in one semester, will this help my case appeal? I also attached a Resume this time. Does anyone know when we should expect to hear back?
Anyone know when the next wave of the waitlist acceptances comes out? Anything I can do to increase my chances of getting in?
I didn’t realize a wave had already come out.
Yeah, two of my friends have gotten off of the waitlist. Only some liberal arts majors are available. No econ apparently.
Anyone know how many people will be contacted for the waitlist? Last year 300 people got in, im hoping its the same this year or about the same
Ill take any major. I just really want to get into UT!! How many people got off the first wave anyways?
Where did you get the 300 number from? I had no idea. And I don’t think they have released stats about the current waitlist.
The admissions counselors last year said that they would take an initial 300 people from the waitlist and admit them of they were interested. If some people were not interested, then other students were contacted. Im just aassuming that atleast 250 of those people were interested. Im hoping that there are a lot of people taken off the waitlist this year. I really really really want to go to UT. Im also hoping that the number of people contacted this year is around the same as last year. Pray for me guys!!
Good luck! Hopefully they have a lot of room.
I was rejected from UT as an out of stater with a 2120 SAT and 3.7 GPA at a rigorous private high school. I was wondering if anyone could help with my appeal.
I appealed stating that they hadn’t seen my senior year grades by the time they released decisions (which would have helped my cause as my GPA went up). I just realized that I may qualify for residency as my parents own properties in Austin and have been paying taxes on them for the past two years. I went through the Residency Core Questions and think that I may qualify as a domicile, but I’m not totally sure since I personally did not live in Texas. If anyone knows, please help me out!
Could you elaborate as to how you did that? I’d be willing to do anything to get into UT and would do the same if I could. Thanks
Update: nevermind I just read the thread above.
Has anyone heard back yet?
Anyone know when waitlist decisions are coming out? Last year, apparently many people got in off the waitlist, so im hoping the same happens this year. Last year many people found out on March 26th and I thought they try to be uniform each year. Maybe since it was Saturday they didnt release decisions. Hoping they come out soon and all goes well.
Good Luck!
