Accepted
College:CNS-Physics

Stats

SAT:Old SAT. 790CR 800M 800W
SAT IIs: Didn’t take in time for app deadline
GPA:3.7 ish unweighted, honestly I’m too lazy to look up my weighted.
Rank:90ish/600ish
Other stats: in-state.
National merit semi, national Hispanic scholar, AP awards bla bla
Band 4yrs w/leadership and also doing well at individual solo contests
Run my own pet-sitting operation, make major $
Eagle scout
More clubs but irrelevant BC I didn’t do anything in them
Participated in UT MITE summer camp
Took a boatload of aps and did well on exams, not so well in the class always lol. Pretty much exhausted AP curriculum at my school my junior yr but this is common enough at my school that they offer courses like o chem and multivariate calc etc.
There is probably something I’m missing but this is all I can think of.

Subjective

Essays: Didn’t spend too much time on them but still think they turned out pretty well. They were definitely on the unique side and did a good job of showcasing who I am and how I think.
Teacher Recs: I imagine it was strong. Came from my physics teacher of two years. I was one of his best students and we got along pretty well.
Counselor Rec: it’s a big school so probably meh. I think my counselor might know me a little more than some because I do talk to my counselor sometimes, but I wouldn’t say I had much of a relationship. I was mostly just popping in to ask a quick question or grab a form.
Hook (if any):URM? UT has a lot of Hispanics tho so not sure how strong this is.

State or Country:the stars at night, are big and bright clap clap clap clap deep in the heart of TEXAS!!!
High School Type, Relative Competitiveness (1-5):public in Houston area. About a 4.5. every year we send a solid amount of kids to top tier schools like MIT Harvard Stanford etc so I like to think pretty highly of my school.
Ethnicity:white hispanic
Sex at Birth:male

Also just found out the other day I got accepted to deans! Kind of surprising to me since I thought my mediocre rank and lack of any really major achievement would take me out of the running. I guess they really liked my essays or something, not really sure what it was tbh.
