There isn't a discussion thread so I thought I'd make one.
Decisions could come out in 9 days if they're released early again like last year

have you heard back from any other schools yet?

have you heard back from any other schools yet?

U. of Delaware out of state acceptances came out this week. I’ve often said that it makes a great backup school for people who love UVa but can’t get in. It is a similarly sized school, with similar academic offerings, a similar campus with similar architecture, similar social opportunities, and a similar town. The list price is also $7K less a year out of state. They do offer some merit and need based aid to out of state students, but they don’t promise to meet 100% of need.

I’m from California and I’ve gotten into sdsu and cal poly slo but uva is one of my top choices. Ahh Im so nervous!

MIT announces this week apparently. DS got in to UDel this week. UVA top choice, though.

I am an international candidate from India an this wait is just CRUEL! I hope they relrased their decisions early!

same…

PS - this thread is soo late but better l8 than never

@JRswish where do you live? I mean which city? I see you applied to top business schools as well then?

im not applying for business lol. arts major (History). 22 schools so too many to list but just go on my chances thread lol

no source for this i assume

Did UVA do likey letters this year?

JR-if you reread the OPs OP, you will see the source for that.

I spoke in person with an admissions officer, the decisions should be released either tomorrow or the 22nd.

And the “view decision” means that your decision has been made, UVa just hasn’t released them yet.

@texanhopeful I find this very interesting. With whom did you speak and when?

We are not done and “view decision” does not mean we have finished with your file. I am the only admission officer in the office who was part of the team that implemented the SIS. I know it pretty well. :)

Rest assured, we are still working diligently and will release as soon as we are able. It would be nice to be early, but we will give ourselves the whole month to complete the process if we feel it’s necessary. Rushing this isn’t fair to anyone who applied. We want to be thorough and thoughtful in our review.

I’m terrified… I’ve had the “view decision” check mark for ages which means they probably decided with me earlier on. I wouldn’t consider myself to be an above average applicant by any means, so I’m really scared as to what this means…

I hope it comes out tomorrow lol

Nevermind, guys… Trust Dean J, not me!! Haha

Haha^

When did they hear last year RD?

^^ See, [Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process: Notification Update](Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process: Notification Update)

What are the chances of admission for out-of-state, minority students wanting to pursue engineering??? This isn’t a “chance me” post, I’d just like to know how UVA goes about accepting OOS students.

The decisions will be released on April 1st. It’s on the blog so no need to panic…for now :)

Hey Kemecks!!! i remember u from the Michigan and Chicago boards. :D
