Official UVA Transfer Thread Fall 2010

^^^^You should start worrying when your As and Bs turn into Cs and Ds. Ive heard that people get really stressed about this but that they really shouldn’t unless they have dropped off quite a bit. I heard an admissions dean said that they only had to rescind a handful of acceptances during their career…does not happen that often. Plus if you worked hard enough to get into Uva like most of us, shouldn’t be much of an issue.

Still COMPLETE…although my stat is not good enough, I still wanna know the decision instead of waiting. But I roughly know the decision. I was too stupid to submit my SAT score just because they didn’t clear it from my to-do-list. I wasn’t require to submit one. Only when I’ve submitted, they said sorry to me for all the trouble.

@jadetransfer – What do you mean? Does still-complete equal to rejection? And why do a few still show complete instead of view decision? Good luck!

whoaaaaaa. Accepted. out-of-state, first-year applicant. totally did not expect this o_o

Congratulations Nicole! I was rejected from Rice and Cornell and waitlisted at Vanderbilt, but I’m into UVA as an out of state community college transfer, feels good.

Congrats to everyone. Is anyone looking at on-campus housing because I have a contract in a good dorm available for someone to take.

where are you living?

@Beren: that’s so odd! I got rejected from Berkeley and UCLA and got into Vanderbilt and UVa… so odd, haha. I’m a CA resident so I totally didn’t expect it.

I say I roughly know the decision is because I don’t think they would accept me with my STAT.

BTW, beren and nicole…those OOS, did u guys apply for business school?? If you did, tat’s really odd, and I feel so happy for you guys. I’m OOS too, but OOS with moderate STAT. let’s see if miracle happens. Anyway, the admin officer had been so helpful in assistine me about my missing credentials. After I wrote a long complaint email. THey contact me in person, and settle in one day. Personal email, super fast…they reply in 5 mins

giantpeach, although we worry so much, but we should calm down. I just hate the wait…In the transfer blog, they said tat they’re stillr reviewing at the moment they release decision. So we represent the small percentage of under review. I believe tat we’ll see a tick within a few days. And most probably, it’s today

@jadetransfer–Thank God you showed up!!! You are the only one who, as far as I know, is in the same situation as I am. I think you hit the point, but should I call the office to make sure? I am worn-out… It’s so tired waiting for something you don’t know when it would come. Good luck!

Does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to get on-campus housing as a transfer? I reallllly don’t want to deal with trying to find an apartment and a roommate and all that.

Giantpeach,

If I were you, I wouldn’t call. First, they’ve mention in the blog that they’re still reviewing, and warn us not to call. So imagine we’re those left for reviewing. Calling them might force them to reject you. ALso, as i rmb, the deposit is due on 12 or 13. So, if u and I want to call, it is definitely next week. Let’s only call when we’ve a good reason. For my case, maybe the missing credentials affect the review alot.

@jadetransfer: no - I applied to arts&sciences, as an English major! Yeah… if I was a bus school applicant I definitely would not have been admitted, haha.

and I don’t think housing is guaranteed for transfers…?

Nicole

Congratulation. No matter wat kind of major it is, it’s UVA. But I’m like buying a 1dollar megamillion of Virginia. If Mctire accepts me, I hit the lottery. hahaha
But ya, wish to see the news so much. I could accept any result, since my hope is not so high.

Hey I’m an English major too, maybe I’ll see you around.

I was planning on going to UW and selling my car. I wonder if I should reconsider since Charlottesville isn’t Quite as big as Seattle heh.

What would my chances be off getting of the waitlist, OOS applicant applied A&S?

@kk23 im in the same situation… i hope the odds arent against us!
