Hey Giantpeach. Mine finally works. I’m waitlisted. Though sad, but i didn’t expect much. I’m OOS and I’m applying to mctire. Already feel good to be waitlisted. I’ll send my final once it’s ready.

DO you guys know bout how many are wait listed. I mean for Mctire.

To those that were accepted, who plans on/has already sent their deposit in?

@jade, thanks. I got mine too. Sadly, it’s a rejection. Anyway, I can move on now. Glad to know that you still have chance to go to UVA. Good luck to both of us~

Has anyone gotten off the waitlist yet? I know they announced Tuesday they starting to call people but it’s Friday already and I don’t know how much longer they’ll go.

where did they announce that?

Ahh nevermind, I read the wrong information. That was for freshman applicants who were waitlisted, not transfer students.

yeah, we wont be hearing for a while yet, and from what i understand acceptances will come in waves throughout the summer

anyway we could know our position on waiting list?

Okay, a few general questions from a 1st gen who’s overwhelmed.

-When do we sign up for classes?
-In the orientation website, it says 4 classes is the minimum, with 5 recommended. Isn’t it typically 3 classes? What am I missing here?
-When does financial aid kick in for those with low funds? If aid starts when classes do, and I move a month earlier, I definitely won’t be able to pay for expenses.
-When are credit evaluations complete?
-When will most of you move there?

Thanks

On another note, where are transfers planning on living? I’m a social second year transfer and I got the email about the “transfer community” that seems to be fairly far off campus. Where is the best place to live? I don’t want to be alienated as “transfer kid” for my entire stay on campus, and I’m a social person so making friends isn’t a problem.

I’m trying to get an off campus apartment.

Any particular reason? Do you already know a lot of people on campus? I won’t know a soul so I’d rather be somewhere that I could meet people fairly easily.

I actually know very few people. I have a few good friends who advised me that it would be more students who were extremely studious that live in dorms, rather than those who are looking to both have a demanding academic career along with a vivacious social life.

that’s not true. some people living on grounds just because its closer to class. and much more convenient.

if you are looking for a place that is close to the corner (clubs, food etc) and is close to grounds (literally crossing the road and up the stairs… 5mins max) then i have a shea house contract for you. female. am willing to pay your deposit.

I havn’t received any package from UVa. How about the rest of u?

not yet and i sent in my deposit on the 5th
i hope i get it soon!!

I’ve already turned down my spot on the wait-list.

When is the deadline for transfer housing applications? Today or next Friday? Anyone know?
