Official UVA Transfer Thread Fall 2011

Officially 23 more days!

New post on Transfermer’s blog: [Transferring to UVA: Change in Spring Transfer Application Deadline](Transferring to UVA: Change in Spring Transfer Application Deadline)

Also, approx. 250 external applicants applied to McIntire this year.

Do you know how many external applicants get accepted to McIntire? I applied, am nervous!

As far as I know, you have to resubmit all your information like that…

Knights09, I applied to my other schools last year as well (with only one semester of CC grades, not sure what I was thinking). These schools keep scores and transcripts on file for one year, so they still had a lot of my materials. I did have to call to make sure they knew I still needed them on file, but it wasn’t an issue.

Brishe, sounds good. Just wanted to make sure you didn’t accidentally leave something out! :)

Thanks!

23 daysss (I like to think 21 since May 1 is a Sunday, but who knows)

Gaahh I hate that my thing has a check to view decision but not till may 1st, ****ssed haha

Amandarin,

Doesn’t that just mean all your materials are in?

Uunius, I’m glad to see someone else applying to McIntire! Where are you applying from? Also guys, I’ve heard back from every college now except for McIntire (accepted everywhere). Anyone else accepted/rejected from somewhere else?

i also got the check mark saying view decision, then saying they’ll be posted may 1, i feel like its the kiss of death but im waiting to see if people are ecstatic about being notified they were accepted before i drown my sorrows

I still got the green circle  Officially 3 more weeks (21 days)!

Sephyre: I’m an out of state international applicant. Yeah I know - double whammy right? :(

Sephyre - I’m still at the green circle, too, but last year I was rejected after getting “View Decision” pretty quickly. I like to think they’re just taking more time to decide on us ;)

Good luck, uuinus! If you think of yourself as a competitive applicant, you should beat out all the other international students applying. McIntire right now has 22% of its students as International (according to BusinessWeek) If we both get in, we’ve gotta meet up sometime!

Brishe, I’m surprised you remember last year’s process but that sounds like a good way of looking at it, but that might mean waitlist? Who knows…

Anyone applying to Nursing/Engineering or is most everyone here for CAS?

yeah i’ve heard of people both accepted and rejected after getting the view decision early on so its not really a good indicator, officially they say it doesnt mean anything but who knows, still I don’t really like it…i’m cas for what its worth dont know if that makes any difference

Cgcgcg well there the circle or the check I have the check

Thanks a lot Sephyre and brishe. My high school GPA is very average at only 3.1, so I don’t think that will help me much in the transfer process to UVA, lol. I think I will just attend VCU for the first two years to get a good college GPA so that the high school GPA wouldn’t be weighted as much. I guess it’s also easier to get accepted as an incoming junior rather than as a sophomore.

Is uva a good school when in comes to majoring in engineering mechanical engineering ideally. I am an international student also but not yet ready for transfer just started.

JustCollege,
I would say apply next year anyways, because you never know what might happen. :D
