Rawr,
Relax, one withdrawal is not the end of the world. Besides, they only see your grades/transcript prior to your withdrawal, so it would only be an issue if you were waitlisted and even then it’s just one withdrawal.

hmm I got the check mark today but I’m not too excited about seeing it. I know peabody says the check mark signifies that your app is ready to be read and that is all but I have hard believing that when a ton of people still have the Circle.

I feel like it might be an idication of a straight out rejection, like a weeding out of those who never had a chance, "lets get rid of this guy early on and concentrate our time on the real contenders.

…or perhaps it is nothing and I’m just being too pessimistic

P.S I didn’t get a missing documents email even though test scores are still on my to do list, but then again why waste time sending an email to a person who has already been rejected LOL

oh the wait is playing games with my sanity.

Now that you mention it, it is weird that they say Missing Document emails are being released even though I still have the green circle. If everything is complete, that would mean my application is ready for viewing (i.e have a check mark), right?

I think we’re thinking too much into it! Officially 18 more days!

yeah i got an ominous feeling about it, i have some really good stuff on my app, but thers some hiccups there where i cud see them tossing it as well, the circle means your stuff is in sephyre, i’m assuming the check means they’ve already made a decision on you one way or another, but again i’m c.a.s. and i saw your mcintire right? so its basically like were apply to different schools so its tough to compare whats going on

Hello all, I am on OOS Sophomore applicant to CAS and I think I may have inadvertently stumbled my way into an interesting discovery regarding the mysterious check mark.

When I first saw the check mark on my SIS page and the little “View Decision” link next to it I clicked the link and was taken to a page simply stating decisions would be released May 1.

The interesting part is that, a few days later, I was typing “azdbacks.com” (my hometown baseball team) into the address bar, and I accidentally hit “ac.” Safari’s auto complete/predictive text function guessed I was trying to go to a page titled “Accept Admission” with a URL beginning with “sisuvacs.admin.virgina.edu…” I clicked the URL because I was intrigued as I knew I had definitely not visited any “Accept Admission” page at the UVA site. It took my to a page where a message popped up saying I did not currently have access to the page. After logging into SIS, however, and revisiting the page it was the same page I had seen before stating to check back for decisions on May 1.

While I realize I am probably looking way too much into this and that the Accept Admission page most likely means nothing, I am interested if anyone else who currently has the View Decision check mark also has the View Decision page in the web history, or if it is merely my optimistic wishful thinking.

I would encourage people not to put much stock in this one way or another, but I am interested to see if we can draw any conclusions from this.

Well, if we want to solve this mystery now, there’s only one way to do it. Does anyone have a “view decision” check mark but not access to the “Accept Admission” page?

New to the forum. Cool to know there’s a group waiting as anxiously as myself. For what it’s worth, I get the “accept admission” things as well when i type it in my address bar. Same message comes up and whatnot. I wouldn’t read too much into it though. Maybe we should try typing in admission denied too haha?

^ That’s a good idea, lol. Does everyone that sees the accept admission page pop up in the address bar have the check mark? I initially assumed it was the page I was taken to after clicking the view decision link, and for me that link didn’t pop up until after the checkor is accept admission popping up for anyone who tries?

As for my major I applied to CAS but intend on transferring to McIntyre after sophomore year, so I suppose technically I wouldn’t have a declared major this year.

This is all very interesting, but I guess we won’t know if any of this is correct until May 1st. Queseras3r4, can we get some of your applicant stats (GPA, SATs, OOS?)

NoDaysOff, tell us about yourself! Glad to see you might go to McIntire, DesertFever! Are most of you guys transferring for sophomore status?

Before my status changed to “View Decision,” clicking “Financial Aid Information” just led to a page that said there is no information to view, blah blah blah. Now I have two boxes, one for 2011 and one for 2012. It says “inquiry access denied” next to each. Does everyone else have this?

yeah im starting to think this accept admissions thing is a bit dubious, i have a friend who has a bit of an outside shot, and she can view it as well. maybe we should try to come up with some type of con, to find out our decisions early, like tricking one of the IT guys its really may 1st by kidnapping him for a bit, im just brainstorming here…
