Hey all! I have a green check, and there’s also a link that says view decision, and when I click on it it says that a decision is not available at this time. I just don’t remember ever having this link before, hopefully that means that progress is being made :)

Good luck everyone!

My circle turned into a check today…uhhh dam it Im so nervous wish I could see the decision already. Did you guys figure out whether it’s a good thing or bad thing to have a check so early…

^ doesn’t mean anything apparently [Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process: Checking your status](Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process: Checking your status)

I have a green circle.

GPA- 4.0
Hours: 60
SAT: None (I finished highschool 5 yrs ago, but not good as a McIntire applicant)
H/s: 3.92 (but homeschooled)
Essays: Don’t know… possibly risky
Hooks: I have a lot of experiences, I heard this helps. 2 internships in Switzerland, acting/film work, worked in NGOs in Africa, S.A., Asia, etc.
Recommendations: Some very good, others not so sure.

do you guys have a note of “eligibility In-State Educational Privileges” next to your circle or check?

I am so nervous…applying to SEAS for second year transfer from another in-state school.

1st semester credit hours: 15
GPA: 4.0
EC: SWE, IEEE
Got an RA position for next year if I don’t get in…but I hope to! (should I tell them?/is this an achievement? Or would that give off the wrong vibe, lol?..it’ll keep me busy as i cry about not getting in. but i hope I will[not have to stay at this university]!)

current semester credit hours: 19 (–i am taking orchestra as a class and it’s 5 hrs a week, but only 1 credit hour -_-;; want to show that I am dedicated?/also sent in an arts supplement)
second semester GPA: 4.0 (I THINK) on the verge of a 3.75 if i get an 89 in my DiffEq class…which I’d better not…

weighted HS GPA was not so good… 3.7 from a school in nova
SAT verbal 570, math 730
ACT verbal 27, math 35

and finally: I have a circle.
I thought a green checkmark means you can view your decision…

And I clicked on “view your decision”, and it said that decisions are not available yet, please check back May 1.

Maybe its really like they say about the check mark and circle, maybe they really mean nothing… They said its just in the “ready to read” mode… But I just keep coming back to the question… why, if the green circle means complete, are they not in ready to read? Why do people have different symbols? I wish we knew the true meaning. I am so nervous!!

Also, does anyone here think they will release decisions a day or two early?

@josh - I think you just got that email because your form was incomplete…and everyone who is eligible for in-state tuition has that next to their check or circle! (pretty sure)

Okay, I got too lazy to check the results for anything other than last year but most of the people that got their checks mid-April got in but I have no idea about the people that got the check really early or really late (too few) but then again maybe it was just coincidence that all the mid-April checks were on CC. No clue…maybe it does mean nothing haha ahh I can’t believe it’s not even the 15th yet though zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

i just can’t help but think that it doesn’t mean anything. I keep rereading the transfer blogs post entitled “green.” Transfermer said that current decisions won’t be final until May 1. Obviously they don’t have time to go over every application that day so I think that means they have made a decision. She said it has nothing to do with decision of admit, deny, or wait list… she didn’t say it has nothing to do with your decision at all… I just feel that means it does have some meaning in regard to decisions just maybe not what decision it is.

Haha but I mean either way…there’s nothing we can do to find out so it’s a waste of time to even think about it! I just did it because I thought it’d be very clear what the pattern was…but it wasn’t… -_-
I actually think your theory was pretty accurate. The first ones to get their checks are really strong candidates or really weak ones and then they whittle it down from there. The later you get it, the more unsure they are of you but just a guess!

maybe it is… i just thought there should be a reason why the symbol is not the same for everyone with a complete app. Anyways i guess the only reason to try and figure out this stuff is to pass time… but it does make for more stress then less stress its definitely like a little roller coaster! Glad we all have each other to talk to though, its comforting knowing we are all in the same position! :)

I have a circle. My understanding of the SIS is that it updates with a bit of a delay (of course I could be totally wrong but it’s fun to try to figure it out). Assuming it means something, the people that have checks had their decisions made a while back while people that are being evaluated now will be updated in a week or two. This would strengthen the conspiracy’s thesis of accepting/ rejecting very strong and very weak candidates early.

However, I am very confident it doesn’t mean anything.

My file had the incomplete mark because i needed to send in test scores. After i did that and they received them a few days later the incomplete went away and then a check mark was present. I never received the complete circle. It went from incomplete to the green, view decision, status.

I was a green circle for probably about two weeks, and I just logged in to check on it, and found that it had been changed to a green check.

Probably means nothing.

Does everyone really think we will know on friday?

Wait, who said anything about Friday??

i think he’s just trying to get a rise out of people or something… cause thats the first I’ve heard of it.

When you click “view your decision” it sends you to a page to please check on May 1st. So I think it’s safe to say decisions will come out on May 1st.
