everyone gets their own virginia.edu address(its basically your sis log in username attached to virginia.edu).

Does anyone know the Fax number to send in supplement information?

ybing

hey dude i didnt know you were here
im also an international student and i think only indicator for us is the deposit thing that we will see before announcement of decisions
if you see deposit payment you got in
if not you got wait listed or rejected

Hmm. I got the “green check” approximately a week after all the documents were received, and I wasn’t contacted for additional information. I don’t think it’s looking good haha but I suppose it’s all speculation.

hey guys
please let me know where the uva address is.
i don’t see virginia.edu thing on collab

oh guys sorry for talking too much
but my collab changed to new one with virginia.edu mail, now i see this one.
when i clicked collab before it listed some crappy information without the address
5 mins ago, i clicked it then was disconnected and then i tried it again and it now looks like everyting changed with the virginia address lol

My thoughts on hints for acceptance:

The only reason I believe that these “to-do’s” may hold some grounding for a ‘tell’ in acceptance is that they are not due for me until June 1st; much after the May 1st due date. Why tell an applicant financial aid info is due after the announcement date?

What is typically a definite indicator of admission is the deposit popping up. In 2009 the decisions were released on the Friday before May 1st, In 2010 It was the Wednesday before May 1st, and again in 2011 and 2012 it was the Friday before May 1st that decisions were announced at 5pm every year on SIS. However that day. Many have reported in the comments section of the UVA Transfer Blog that they received the admissions deposit update on his or her own SIS prior to the release of admissions at 5pm that day. So be sure to check The Transfer Blogs with Updates Regularly the week before May 1st.

My biggest indicator for acceptance was by using math to solve for Expected Value, Variance, and Standard Deviation of Opportunity. Thus I used the stats for total transfers from here: [Profile | Office of Undergraduate Admission](http://www.admission.virginia.edu/admission/profile)

and the stats for transfer admissions from here: [IAS Historical Data: Transfer Applicants](http://avillage.web.virginia.edu/iaas/instreports/studat/hist/admission/trans_total.htm)

And the Stats from the Transfer FAQ from here: [Transfer Students Frequently Asked Questions | Office of Undergraduate Admission](http://www.admission.virginia.edu/transfer/faq)

And based on the number of Fall incoming students total, the transfer students applying, the percentage accepted, the average GPA of those accepted, the average of those wait-listed, and the number of men vs. women, in state vs. OOS, and Nova vs. not Nova for the Past 10 years I used the Variance and Standard Deviation of a Random Variable to come up with my odds VS the expectation and then I used a Likelihood-ratio test and came up with my mathematical transfer acceptance based on the provided data.

If you care to try it yourself here are the equations:
Random Variable Calculus: [Variance of a Random Variable - Statistics and Probability | WyzAnt Tutoring](http://www.wyzant.com/help/math/statistics_and_probability/expected_value/variance)

Statistics of Likelihood: [Likelihood-ratio test - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Likelihood-ratio test - Wikipedia)

The math is not too difficult if you know how to find the mean and median with algebra and if you know how to integrate and derive.

Calculating the margin of error will help too: [How To Calculate the Margin of Error](How To Calculate the Margin of Error)

TL;DR ~There are some give aways for admission: 1)having new to-dos with a due date past May 1st, checking Transfer Blog the week before and SIS for admissions deposit, and using math.

Hope this helps someone.

let me ask a question then.
Who does NOT have new to-do’s !?
If some do not have it yet, then i would believe it’s a sign of acceptance
In my logic there is no reason for giving you a new to-do a while before the announcement date. Think about this: Why do they give you new to-do’s even if you were rejected? They have nothing to do with you if you were rejected, but they now have more to do with you, which is why they ask you to do. I don’t think they will give the new to-do’s to those rejected. I don’t think they will collect new information of the rejected after the decision date

@Pete777, The fax for admission office is 434-924-3587; fax for the financial aid office is 434-924-7636. You can double check it on the uva website.

@11112: Thank you!

@Tndud: I do not have new to-do’s nor a green check.

Tnud6364 Hey, I am an international student too. Was wondering if the time comes, where will the deposit appear? Will it be on the to do list? Mine changed to a green check today.

tndud,where will the deposit payment sign show, right beside the status box or what?
But I am still having a circle, obviously they haven’t made decision. Waiting waiting waiting…

@transfersoph, ybing

that’s what i was wondering about
but from what i have heard from those accepted, they saw “pay admission deposit” on SIS. Probably we will easily find it because all of them said they saw it immediately after logging in
and we will see it shortly after decision announcement is posted on transfer blog
Emory USC and some other schools work the same way
So the definate indicator of your acceptance is “pay admission deposit” or some type of title including “deposit” or something like that
im not thinking anything other than the popup

I have a green check with no holds or to do’s. When I click the green check, it says my decision is not ready yet. This seems odd since the green check is supposed to mean that the decision is ready. Got into UNC last week though so I’m feeling pretty optimistic. Good Luck!

@tndud6365 thanks! Gotta pray!!!

Does anyone know how financial aid is for out of state students and are there any merit scholarships for transfer students, or is most money funded used mostly for newly admitted freshman students?

wait so wens the latest item due on ppl’s to-do list? mines 5/1. it seems like some ppl have things due in june?

@Kane402, I have three items there. One is due 5/6, another two are due 5/11

Someone mentioned the email address changed to XXX@virginia.edu. Today it is my first time log into collab and found mine is also end with virginia.edu. But idk what it was before…it means accepted??? really? I doubt it. Cuz I am still having a green circle…

^I doubt it means anything. I had that about 2 weeks ago, but I just got my green check yesterday. Like I said earlier, it is way too early to be giving out hints; hints, if any, usually appear just hours or so before decisions are released.

I do think that the ‘to-dos’ could mean something though. If they want a Final Transcript, then it could be a hint that you were accepted. I would disregard any Financial Aid to-dos though, because Admissions and Financial Aid work separately.
