*OFFICIAL* UW Class of 2010 Acceptance List

congrats to JustAccepted.... that's awesome.
are you playing football for the UW?

im thinking about walking on

@JustAccepted, I go to BHS too, and I have a good guess as to who you might be :D

JustAccepted, when did you apply?

i applied before the priority date....about november 30th

You guys are going to think I am crazy, but for browsing this forum for several months I had no idea that there was a UW forum (I hadn't even seen the Alphabetical List of Colleges haha :s). However, here I am, and part of the UW Class of 2010.

I got my letter the 22nd of December roughly, and found out via unofficial transcript before that.

Stats:
-3.94 GPA
-760 critical reading/640 writing/560 math
-Instate from a very small town
-Excited to be part of the UW Class of '10!

Congrats to all who have gotten in so far and good luck to all those still waiting :)

i know stephen... hahahaha
small world heh.

I wonder how long your app status becomes "full review process" you get to know you're in or not?

sigh.

Mines been since jan 24th!

It's awesome to hear some people got in with not-so-amazing stats. My GPA is only a 3.35, but with AP and honors weight it's a 4.4 in Florida. Do any of you guys know if UW is harder on out of state applicants or not? I imagine they would be. My SATs are 1360 old, 2080 new. I really have very little going for me other than an extremely heavy courseload... mediocre grades though. I don't really know what to expect but I consider UW a moderate reach. Any insight?

answering out-of-state questions are tricky.

if memory serves me right, around 90% of UW's undergraduate population is from in-state. (if not 90%, some really high percentage) seeing this, i think it would be in UW's advantage to admit as many out of state applicants as possible - they are all about diversity, after all.

so i can't imagine UW's out of state admission to be THAT much more difficult. however, out of state applicants probably get reviewed only after all the in-state applicants are accepted. UW is, after all, a state school.

This is just my intuition, but you should contact an adcom about this.

well.... the actual in-state percentage is 83%, so yes it's pretty high. However, I don't think that oos students get reviewed later, seven or eight posters on this forum have gotten in out of state, while there are many in-state applicants still waiting. So best of luck to amandatraci, I hope you get in!!!!

though they get more $$$ from the oos students...they accept more in-state applicants because they are more open to them as in less picky on acceptance

I applied to UW with the earlier date (so they can process the honors college app faster), anyways I just hear and I got accepted with a 1530 on the old SAT, and I can't really remember what I got on the new SAT, my GPA is somewhere around a 3.5 unweighted and a 4.3 or higher weighted. Hope this helps

a bunch of my friends got accepted today... all lower stats than me.

so around 3.2 and 1700-1800 on the SATs.

of course they attend a major UW feeder school, but still.

im jealous. should've applied by the priority date!!

thanks, washingtonian151! and thank you, everyone, for all the oos information. the wait is drving me crazy!

nhs....do you go to newport high school in bellevue, wa??

Accepted to the university the first week of January (applied by the priority deadline), still waiting to hear back from the Honors Program (got lazy and mailed that envelope on Jan. 3, so didn't make the priority deadline on that one).

Major: Economics
In-state (Seattle suburb)
4.0 unweighted GPA
1/385 rank
2330 SAT

To everyone who hasn't heard back yet...hang in there!

I received my acceptance letter the other day.

[Random] Stats:

3.66 GPA
Intended major is philosophy
Black male
a lot of extra curriculars including debate

justaccepted - yep.

there are quite a few of us (nhs and bhs kids) around. it must have something to do with the district policy on AP.

my friend who applied on jan. 15th got accepted yesterday!! BEFORE me.. wah what??????????????????????

nhs041088-
yeah, it's pretty much all random...they don't read the apps in order. except they separate the ones submitted before the priority deadline from the ones after. i guess then that they've finished with all of the priority apps.
