Can you chance me, my unweighted gpa is 3.416 and my weighted is 3.9024. My SAT score is 1240. I applied for pre health sciences. Are my stats to low to get in? My essays are decent and I have good extracurriculars
@raquel1010 Hey, I applied for Pre-Health Sciences too. I have a 3.56 unweighted but only a 3.6 weighted, and my SAT is a 1080/1600.
My D applied really on a whim because she would love to be in the Northwest. The applied to the BA in Theater but honestly it’s non-audition and we have no idea if their program is any good. The school looks amazing though! GPA unweighted 3.76 (this year it’s much higher with 3 AP’s) SAT 1220 ACT 25 (33 in English). She already has audition based acceptances to other schools (including one in Seattle) so I doubt she would go but planning a visit in April. If anyone knows anything about the theater program I would love to hear.
Their theatre program is very well regarded and highly rated. On one website I read that it was #36 out of over 1200 theatre programs. I applied for the the BA in theatre as well because it is such a good program! And there are plenty of performing opportunities in Seattle. The MA in theatre is by audition only, and they only accept around 6 acting students. It is also rated the best college theatre program in Washington.
@cj02523 it’s interesting because in the Theater/Drama major forum on CC no one ever talks about it.
To the posters above, here is some information that may help you assess admissions chances:
Washington’s Common Data Set reports the unweighted GPA of enrolled freshmen in 2016 as follows:
3.75 to 4.00: 65.40%
3.50 to 3.74: 25.96%
3.25 to 3.49: 6.20%
3.00 to 3.24: 1.89%
Under 3.00: 0.55%
Average unweighted HS GPA for enrolled freshmen in 2016 was 3.78.
Middle 50% ACT of enrolled freshmen in 2016 was 26-32.
The old SAT average for enrolled freshmen in 2016 was 1840, which converts to around 1310 on the new SAT.
I do not think the UW publishes stats of accepted students in addition to stats of enrolled students. However, as a function of yield, average stats of enrolled students are a little lower than average stats of accepted students (e.g., UCLA accepted ACT: 29-34; enrolled ACT: 26-33).
Rigor of courses and GPA are considered “very important,” and standardized test scores are considered “important.”
The admission rate in 2016 was 45% (WA residents: 62:9%; OOS: 43.3%; international: 29.9%).
Good luck!
@marg928, my understanding is that the drama major requires auditions for intermediate and advanced acting courses.

The department produces several great shows every year, as does the Undergraduate Theater Society, which is run entirely by students.
Can’t wait for decisions to come out!
Just got the email that decisions are coming soon!
Is there a way to find out your decision before the 15th if you have a uw netID?
Hey, I’m a US citizen residing outside of the United states. Will I receive my decision by postal mail as well?
Thanks
@selxx23 As far as I could see from last year’s acceptance thread, in-state acceptances started (portal) on March 15th, from 8 pm, followed by OOS starting on 16th and so on (also at 8 pm). I think in-state continued for the next couple of days as did the OOS. Hard to tell since people were not really checking their portals immediately. As far as I could tell, the rejections were coming out at the same time. Not much longer to wait-best of luck to everyone.
About two-three weeks ago I received an e-mail from UW asking for a pdf of my unofficial transcript. I was wondering if anyone knew if that was an indicator of acceptance. Any input would help.
Will decisions be emailed as well as mailed (for acceptances)?
DYING RIGHT NOW so nervous >.<
@ETH2355 I received the same email, i believe it is just a way for them to clarify certain things on your self transcript that you typed in especially if your OOS.
@baedrillaurd as far as I could see from the previous year’s thread, the portal updates and a letter arrives a few days later but nothing is said about any emails being received. BUT, the email that we received today from UW mentioned that rejections will be emailed only.
Is it still 31st March for International Applicants??
Mail rcvd. Decision between 15 to 31st march
i heard that if your SAT scores are shown on your unofficial transcript (on UW NETID) then you are accepted. Is this true??
