if you don’t get directly admitted to your major, you just get accepted to UW with a pre major instead @collegayahboi
@UWadmissionstaff does the choice of major we listed on our application affect our general admissions to the university?
@UWadmissionstaff is there any info at all that you can tell us about when we can expect them to come out apart from just the date range?
@superstar542 Most likely most applicants (not all, again our window is until the 15th) in the later part of this week. I wouldn’t excessively be checking MyUW tomorrow.
@UWadmissionstaff alright thank you!
@UWadmissionstaff Hi! I was wondering if in-state applicants have a slightly higher chance of acceptance because I’ve noticed with the statistics from autumn 2017 that there are significantly more residential students than nonresidents or international,etc.
@reekoprime The University of Washington is the flagship public university for the the State of Washington. Our goal is to educate students from our state as a public institution. With that said, for the incoming class of 2017 our admissions rates were:
In-state: 59%
Out-of-State: 42%
International: 37%
Do you guys check your MyUW? It shows error in my end like “Admissions Application Status - Unavailable
The Application Status service is not available at this time. Please try again during normal operating hours”.
Mine works
I don’t like doing this but, can anyone chance me?

Do we find out about financial aid as soon we get our admission decision?
Obviously everyone can do what they want, but keep in mind that UWAdmissions themselves said on here they do not recommend “chancing” each other. No one has read each others essays, gauged what the competition is, or reviewed entire applications. We all have the exact same information as far as acceptance rate, average GPA, etc, so when you’re asking to be told whether you think you’ll get in, you’re essentially asking other people to tell you what you already know. None of us know any more about admissions than anybody else, so don’t stress yourselves out trying to get the opinion of people who have the exact same information as you do!!! Fingers crossed that we get good news from UW later in the week!
I’d say you have a fair shot of getting in!
Will UW be sending the wait list/ denial emails after the 15th?
I have a 3.6 GPA and a 1440 on the SAT I am pre-biology and have had a job and a medical internship for more than 2 years. I am taking 6 IB classes this semester and am full IB. Do you think I’ll get into UW?
