AYE!!! so i didn’t want/plan to make an account but nobody in this thread has said they applied to be an English major and now for some odd reason I am excited someone applied too! I plan to major in creative writing but it says english on my app since I have to get into that department first. WHOOOOOOO

also i’ve been lurking for awhile, I didn’t want to post since i have no chance of getting in which is a FACT (i have no stats to show at all) but i really liked the school and for my essay i told my silly stupid story about why I bothered applying anyways even though i don’t stand a chance 
@babyfangs My sister’s boyfriend graduated UW as an English major. He liked it a lot!

@babyfangs I know how you feel, bad gpa and SAT, only have running start going for me, just trying to keep my hopes down honestly.
@babyfangs friend!!! UW is sort of a reach for me but I’ve always had this vision of myself beginning my career as a novelist/essayist/low-paid publishing intern in Seattle while doing my undergrad at UW. It just feels right. If we both get accepted we can connect and dish about it.

@pepper0983 pretty much me except i dont have running start which is worse. Admittedly my gpa and sat scores arent so bad but they definitely don’t fit into UW standards cry :,)

how is UW with out of state need-based aid? i have a low EFC and i know they don’t grant many merit scholarships… i need as much help as i can get lol
@keroWACKEDout NOVELISTS!!! whoooot! The school just spoke to me. It was the first one I decided to apply to in general despite how embarrassed I felt for even trying. But I’d rather try than not at all. We totally should! good luck to both of us!!
My son applied to Mechanical Engineering and the Honors Program. Not sure on his chances, but he and I are crossing our fingers. He really wants to join the Formula SAE team as well.

Lots of service and leadership (Eagle Scout, president of club related to major interest, captain varsity sport, etc etc)
I applied to Scandinavian Studies/ Swedish major! I don’t know how many people are applying to that major lol

I wish I had as good of stats as most of you 
but worked my butt off getting to where I am and I’m so excited that I could possibly end up at this beautiful school- literally been my dream since big brother toured the campus & ended up goin. good luck everyone! I hope things go well however they end up for all of you guys! <3
