My last name starts with P and I have no info yet. Do you think they are releasing alphabetically? Others getting notice at the end of the alphabet?
Accepted!! And I’m honestly a little surprised because my test scores are extremely low compared to many of the accepted students that I have seen.
OOS (California)
SAT: 1200 (super score), 1190 (sitting)
ACT: 24
GPA: 3.92 (unweighted), 4.44 (weighted)
I’ve taken 9 AP courses and 3 Honors courses
extracurriculars: school newspaper editor-in-chief, varsity cheerleader, ASB (student council), Girl Scouts, and multiple community service clubs
I’m just trying to give a little hope to others like me who have worked so hard, yet still might not have been the greatest test taker.
I believe it is by major
wait it could definitely be by major, i applied to the School Of Education (major early child and family studies) anyone accepted apply to this program?
@collegesearchz That is strange, I applied for the same major and got accepted but you have a much higher test score than me. My best guess is that it comes down to essays and personal statement. But with those stats I am positive that you will get into a great college, don’t be disheartened.
Thank you for taking the time to post this information. Do you have any idea when the remaining decisions will be made? U of W is my first choice and I am anxiously awaiting the decision. Thanks again KG
Accepted!!
Direct Admit to the Foster School of Business (shows up as “Your assigned major: Business Administration”) in the additional application information portion
Indian-American girl from NJ
1510 SAT, 3.85 GPA, bunch of EC, leadership roles, and volunteer hours
Good luck to everyone who is still waiting on decisions! Wishing you all the best and sending lots of love <3
@UWadmissionstaff Do you know when the next wave of decisions will come out? Could it happen over the weekend, or do results only come out during the work week?
I could be wrong, but all results should be posted in the UW portal by now. Unless your on the waitlist. But I could be wrong, I think that’s what @UWadmissionstaff said
I have a predicament that I would love some input on:
I was accepted to the UW, but I am pretty sure that I did not gain direct admission to my requested major of Computer Science (I listed a backup or secondary major of civil engineering). My portal reads that I have been assigned to “Pre-Sciences”. So, if this does mean I have not been directly admitted into the Computer Science program, how likely is it that I would be accepted for Comp Sci at the end of my Sophomore year (which is when undecided UW students apply for majors)? I’ve heard varying opinions. Some say if you didn’t get directly admitted it’s a waste of time to go to the UW and try to get into Comp Sci later becuase it’s so competitive and there are few spots. Others have said that it’s still a good option, and a real possibility. I’m confused, and to be honest a little disappointed. To summarize: if I want to pursue comp sci, is attending the UW w/out direct admission in hopes of being admitted at the end of my sophmore year realistic? Any personal experiences, advice, or opinions anyone has would be greatly appreciated.
Stats:
In-State, White male
SAT: 1450 (760 Math, 690 Reading/Writing)
GPA: 3.98 (the one not adding value for APs)
A’s and 5’s in 6+ AP classes
I have read the UW’s literature about my issue (https://www.cs.washington.edu/academics/ugrad/admissions/freshmen) but I am more curious about peoples actual experiences
*final thought: I was pretty sure my stats would be enough to land me in the Direct Admission to Comp Sci, but maybe this year was Comp Sci heavy in applicants?
Congratulations to all of you!
@snickers44 On friday, the UW admissions account said that they should have most decisions up in the portal by the end of the week and said 2 days in parenthesis. So that could me including Sunday as the end of the week, I haven’t heard back yet so I’m just hoping this is the case.
@snickers44 no that is not true. UWadmissionsstaff said they will come in waves. There has only been 1 so far. Waiting for a second right now
Got denied and was offered to be put on the waitlist (am an OOS student). I am surprised i did not get in because I got into the university of michigan and have decided to go there this fall. I put my major down as public health for UW so is that probably why i got rejected/waitlisted?
Ok I got DA to Foster business but I haven’t got an email yet. Anyone else?
Waitlist…
I am surprised and extremely disappointed. UW was one of the first schools I was looking at and I was very excited and admittedly overconfident.
But here are my stats:
SAT: 1410 (720E 690M)
GPA: 4.16 W, around 3.8-3.9 UW
Very emotional essay
OOS
Applied for computer engineering.
FIRST Robotics (leadership position), Martial Arts , robotics internship at an university, silver medal at regional robotics competition, Model UN (won several awards)
I feel happy for all of you who got accepted. I wish you all good luck.
D was wait-listed. OOS, 3.53W, 4.22UW GPA, 1330 SAT. Good essays, average EC’s. Email said that last year zero students on the wait-list got in, but two years ago it was 735 out of 2326 (which is bizarre). We will accept the spot, but won’t be expecting any good news. It was always a reach and she got into SMU last night so on the whole the weekend isn’t too bad. Good luck to everyone still waiting on a decision.
Really bummed I didn’t get in. Thanks for the encouragement. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see how my other apps play out.
@Yay1234awesome congrats! They don’t send an email out, it’s just the portal update and within a week depending on where you live you’ll get something in the mail from UW.
Also, anyone know when scholarship info and/ or honors college info come out? Sorry if this has been answered before, I’m new to this thread
