I applied to UW and they sent me a confirmation email in December and it said they would be sending me information about how to set up my UWnet ID in January, but they never did. Because of this I never got my PAC and am unable to see my application status. Is there any way for them to re send the PAC?
thank you so much @UWfromCA !!
Accepted OOS from CA
Pre-Sciences (intended major is Electrical Engineering)
GPA: 3.7 (UW)
SAT: 1470
@UWadmissionstaff What is the most amount of aid we can get for OOS? Do you know when we will hear about that? Daughter got admitted now waiting to see if we can afford it. Thanks!
Son accepted, Direct to Engineering (mechanical engineering)
4.0 UW GPA
1460 SAT

No email sent, just popped up in his portal this morning.
Does anyone have more information about this new route “direct into college of engineering”? The previous news stories before this option paints a pessimistic picture of being accepted into your desired major and getting the classes needed. Thank you!

waitlisted as an international student, just submitted my international freshman waitlist form. Feel like this is some sort of sign since I’m struggling to decide between the US and the UK.
Hold up the admissions came out??? My portal hasn’t updated and i haven’t gotten any mail
Accepted, pre-sciences (Applied for neurobiology)
3.5 GPA UW, my school does not weight. It’s a boarding school for gifted students, so the classes are abnormally hard.
36 ACT, 1590 SAT
@edawg99 I understand how your feeling and I’m not trying to disregard those feelings. However I got accepted to UW and I am an OOS student attending an IB World School with a weighted gpa of 4.3. My SAT scores are trash. I am Hawaiian and my writing supplements were good. However I did not expect to get into UW especially looking at all of the people that got rejected even though they have better scores than me. I think that I had a holistic review and more than my scores were accounted for. But I do see where you’re coming from, I’m sorry that you feel as though that happened to you. I’m just saying that your experience is not applicable to everyone.

Strong Essays where I wrote about my NGO work and how the entire experience made me more open-minded, acquainting me with the circumstances of those very different from me. In other essays, I wrote about how my passion for robotics and coding has lead my expressive side “to create things”. I also mentioned about work I did during my Internship period and talked about how my research work at PRL had ensconced me in a university-like environment.

How hard is it to change majors since a lot of us are assigned with “pre”? We don’t technically declare our major until after 105 credits right?
@UWadmissionstaff Nice to talk to you! I am a newly admitted student with an engineering undeclared major. For the second year when we select our major, would we be required to write another new personal statement, or we just request the major that we are pursuing?
@edawg99 Actually, I am an OSS student who was accepted with a 3.53 UW GPA
Anyone know of a groupme/Facebook group/anything besides the “new huskies 2018” fb page to connect with accepted students?
Anyone gotten their packet yet?
Anyone else still waiting for a portal update?
I got accepted but not for my major so I probably won’t be attending because I already have two offers for engineering schools so I really don’t see how UW can compete with those two schools since UW did not give me my major. Oh well
@finalfour388 Yep, still waiting for update also
