**Official Vanderbilt 2013 RD Decisions**

^^^^ 1510/1600 or 1510/2400?

no it’s def out of 1600, come on
there’s no hope for us lol

^^ lol…your right, there is no hope…

Yes it’s 1510/1600, 2290/2400.
I definitely expected to get in lol especially after being waitlisted at Duke, which is way better than Vandy. I’ve noticed Vandy’s admissions going downhill over the past few years, unexpectedly admitting mediocre students in what even the admitted students call a fluke. It’s sad that what looks like a great school is becoming a second chance school for those who couldn’t pull it out in high school. It’s a crappy year, that’s for sure.

“It’s sad that what looks like a great school is becoming a second chance school for those who couldn’t pull it out in high school.” Can you explain this?
And the “crappy year” stuff?
I completely disagree with your post but it also confuses me so before I state my opinion could you please elaborate?

GhjAbc is just bitter she just got flat out denied. There was probably a glaring whole in the application. Just because you don’t get in is no reason to bash the school.

Yeah wow, bitter much? Have you seen the stats? How in the world could you say it’s taken a turn for the worse? Oh that’s right, because they didn’t admit you, little Ms. Wonderful. Have fun going to Dook… maybe.

ghjabc, stats are impressive, idk what to say…i’d be bitter too if I had those stats and got denied…(too bad i don’t have those stats)

[li] going to attend? Probably not, waiting until I hear from everywhere else until I give my place to someone on the waitlist.[/li][/ul]Other Factors:
None that I can think of, good luck to those on the waitlist!

GhjAbc, you sir, are an effing tool. A huuuuuge one.

FYI, I was accepted to Duke (not waitlisted, like you), and I was also accepted to Vandy. My stats are just as good as yours, and I’m pretty damn confident that my essays were better, especially since you come off like a pompous windbag.

Stop bashing Vanderbilt just because you didn’t get in. Many people who weren’t admitted are being very gracious and congratulatory like mature adults.

Go pout like a toddler somewhere else. Thanks.

^^ woah, dude thats a little harsh…I mean its understanable to be a litttle frustrated, after all those years of hard work to not get admitted to your favorite schools…

Wow. Did you even read his post? It’s not frustration; it’s stupidity. Like I said, lots of kids are “frustrated” right now. Not many are being jerks like him.

“Duke, which is way better than Vandy”

“…admitting mediocre students in…a fluke”

“a great school is becoming a second chance school for those who couldn’t pull it out in high school.”

He’s not just insulting the integrity of a Top 20 university; he’s insulting my intelligence, which I do not appreciate.

i agree with hookem168, instead of b itching that vandy made mistakes, how about Ghj looks at why he didnt get in. To be waitlisted at duke and denied from vandy with a 1510, there is something wrong with your application. you just werent good enough, get p isseded at yourself, not the vandy admissions.

Lol, can we keep this thread to actual decisions?

I do agree though, Ghj is acting a bit toolish.

@Ghj
admissions “going downhill” doesn’t generally mean good candidates being shafted. on the contrary, you’d think with lower standards, theyd have better chances of getting in

now, accepting such “mediocre” students and rejecting you would suggest something about your own app. even if there were a decline in quality of admissions, this wouldn’t be at the cost of real strong candidates

lol derp.

^ Logic ftw.

regardless, anyone else majoring philosophy?
im going to assume i’ll be one of maybe 5
(pre-law, however)

public vs private
your choice
major diff is the crowd and the party

I have no idea how GhjAbc didn’t get in.

The only reason I can think of is maybe geographic diversity…I noticed her box says Georgia…
