**Official Vanderbilt 2013 RD Decisions**

Thanks, mciver. I’m sure Wake Forest will be great. Though, I also got accepted to Emory today so that is also an option… but Wake is prettier. Either way, I’ll continue being my weird, enthusiastic self wherever I go. =]

Acceptances at 2 out of 3 top 25 universities is a pretty great day. I’m sorry to hear about your being waitlisted and I know you are disappointed, but you’ve got only good things ahead of you. Go for it without regrets…

Hilsa, Wake and Emory should be fighting to get someone like you - I just know you will bring your positive thinking soul to whatever school you attend and that school will be very lucky - rock on!
Waitlisted at Emory in at Wake

Hilsa
I am also very sorry about your waitlist. I hope your pain is short and you will get energy and zest back soon but think time to feel dissapointed is also deserved and healthy. If you get in off waitlist, it may be an even sweeter thrill than an acceptance. Mcgiver’s comments are so well stated. I am very concerned about the guys at Vanderbilt being disrespectful and I am going to assume sexist. I am sending a son there and I will let him know of this and hope he will be different. Believe me he was never raised to be that way. Good luck!!

I got ACCEPTED, I think I already posted though.

I’m just a white guy with decent stats, so I figured Vanderbilt wouldn’t want me. Evidently there’s still room for us too.

im like goodschoolhopefully

vanderbilt: im waitlisted at vandy
wake forest: im in!
emory: im waitlisted :(

Hilsa, my daughter and I feel like we know you personally. Last night we were rooting for you! If you do end up at Wake, you will LOVE it…several friends there and all love it. We still have not rec’d a thing in the mail. One more day. We may be the last to hear. LOL.

Thanks, investor. =] I’m hoping to get off the waitlist but now I have another month so I will investigate Wake Forest and Emory much more soon.

Good luck with your daughter!!! I hope she gets in, and if she gets waitlisted, tell her not to give up as I am definitely not!

Hilsa, We too are disappointed for you! Son will probably not be attending Vandy, as we would be paying full freight, minus the 5K for National Merit. I wish we could tell them to take you off the waitlist if/when he declines the offer!!!

You guys should e-mail Vandy with a petition, telling my admissions counselor that some girl she waitlisted really would do anything to get accepted. ;)

Anyway, I’m hoping a lot of Vandy acceptees get accepted to other schools. So good luck all you super geniuses tomorrow! :P

Oh yeah, and Hilsa…I wish the best for you. You obviously love Vandy, and like many waitlisted applicants, you would have definitely would have been accepted just maybe 2-3 years ago. Vandy and some other elite schools like UChicago have gotten so competitive the last few admissions cycles, so I think even a Waitlist shows how smart, interesting, and great of an applicant you are. Good luck hilsa, I am rooting for you! And for everyone that has gotten in Vandy, CONGRATULATION…you guys deserve it, y’all are geniuses! I think I might end up at Wake or W&M, and I am honored to have gotten in those schools!

Rejected, Asian from Texas…1500/1600, 2200/2400 sat score…3.8 unweighted, and top 15 percent class rank…

Waitlisted. Accepted at my dream school Notre Dame today with a nice package, and I am still delirious. I learned a lot about Vandy through this whole process, and it seems like a great place.

major weakness: didn’t submit SATs even though I took them (they were fine but not as great as ACT), and didn’t take SAT II’s, didn’t do an interview
why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: Honestly don’t know, I was accepted to schools that I consider better than Vandy or at least just as competitive to get into… (ie Rice, Wash U) And I have three full rides (2 at state schools and one at a liberal arts school that only 2 people get). So I’m just assuming that there were people more deserving and were better applicants. Frankly, I’m just glad to have 1 decision made for me. Not gonna stay on the waitlist.

Congrats to all that were admitted though! :)

Other Factors:

Cancun, unless the policy has changed, it is 5k/year if there are no other Vanderbilt merit scholarships, and 2k/year if you are receiving another merit award from Vanderbilt.

hilsa–i got waitlisted, and i’m a double legacy (that definitely gives good amounts of money to the school). i am too lazy to post stats, but i got into northwestern and georgetown, if that tells you anything. i’m not taking my spot on the waitlist, so hopefully you’ll get in instead :)

I hope I get your spot too!

Northwestern and Georgetown… and you got waitlisted by Vandy? Wow. Admissions at Vanderbilt are definitely ridiculous this year!
