oh yeah, my dad checked online today and said that EACH program admit 10 students a year. i don't know where he found it o__o but i hope it's true.

Unfortunately, I think that's wrong. It looks like 10 total are selected.

i've visited that website too actually. it doesn't make much sense that they accept so few:( are more ENGAGE students accepted after they enroll into Vanderbilt?

Yeah they let you apply again after freshman year (sophomore year for medicine).

Hey all,

Found the answer. They only selected ten--not for each program. In fact, this is a new program, started in 2005. As for Sophomores having a better chance, I don't believe this because all students from 2005 had been high school seniors.

The article from Vanderbilt Notes:

"... About 17 percent of Vanderbilt graduates will go on to graduate or professional school."

"... Of the nine members of the inaugural class of ENGAGE scholars, four are interested in going on to graduate school in engineering, three in management, one in medicine and one in law."

See link to Article: http://www.owen.vanderbilt.edu/vanderbilt/About/owen-newsroom/press-releases/12-12-2005.cfm

I'm sure we all could probably secure a spot--maybe other graduate schools will start looking to high school seniors too.
