Official Vanderbilt ED1 Class of 2020 Discussion Thread

@waffledancerxox I would assume so, but I would have them in by tonight just to be safe.
I wonder why they changed the deadline…

When my admissions counselor came to my school in September, she said that a lot of kids applying RD will try to turn in their application for admission on like Nov 30, and then have trouble getting their Ingram in on Dec 1. So they probably just extended it to allow that late wave of kids enough time

December 15th (or 11th or 12th) can’t come soon enough. I find myself checking MyAppVU every day out of sheer paranoia. Also, how many people did a CoRPS interview? Did you find it helpful?

@stargoat I did an interview! Did it help me determine that Vanderbilt was the school for me? No. Because I frankly, I knew that going into the interview(: Did it help me get into the school? Welp, guess we will see on the 15th! Overall, it felt like another conversation with a family member or friend on why Vanderbilt was the perfect school for me, and why I applied ED.

@stargoat I’ve been doing the same thing haha… and yeah, I did an interview! It was very comfortable and I felt good about it but I’d already applied ED so it’s not like I needed more convincing (:

@stargoat I also did an interview and we spent more time discussing the experiences offered at Vanderbilt. It was really informative and we actually both applied to the schools for the same reasons which was pretty cool!

also, i just noticed that I don’t have any major leadership things within my school, i was the leader of a club this year and held a few leadership positions outside of school, but now I am worried that it is going to affect my chances, any advice? or maybe i’m just overstressing at this point haha

@hopingtogo123 don’t worry, everyone is stressing. There’s nothing we can do to change our ECs now, all that’s left to do is wait!

@stargoat I LOVED my interviewer! He was such a nice guy. We talked a lot about Vanderbilt and what I plan to do there. He also gave me wonderful advice about faith in college, becoming more independent, and adapting to university life.

December 15th happens to be the first day of finals for me :(( I reaaaalllllyyyy hope they come out on the 11th or 12th omg

Just out of curiosity, is anyone here a guy? I realized I tend to assume everyone on CC is a girl for some reason haha

Duke’s decisions are coming out on Thursday this year. They also extended their regular decision deadline. I wonder if their number of applications is down this year.

Does anyone know what time of day the decisions come out?

@seniorgirl2016 They’ve come out at around 5PM CST the past two years.

@SoBobolicious I noticed that too and was wondering the same thing.

Hey, I saw you guys mentioned the release dates could be the 11th or 10th for ED1 rather than the 15th. How did you guys assume that ? or are they just rumors?

@soccer88matt for the past few years, Vanderbilt has been releasing decisions the Friday or Saturday before the 15th , which lands right around the 11th! If this is the case then there’s only 7 days 21 hours 11 minutes! good luck everyone!

Found out that Brown comes out on the 10th. Ivies typically release decisions all at once.
May we will have a 10th decision as well?
Makes you wonder…hmm

@formychapter2 Brown has been consistently releasing on Thursdays while Vanderbilt has been consistently releasing on Fridays, so I doubt it. But we can always hope haha

Don’t ED 1 decisions come back on December 15th? And if so, what time do they come up on the portal? 5pm EST?
