@klm2014 Check your spam folder. If it’s caught up somewhere else, call admissions.

If they don’t come out today around 5, should they be out at midnight?

Idk but my monies on 5pm CST…

admission email states that it will be available as of Saturday.

Well, judging by how rough yesterday was, I’m not quite sure I’m ready for another rejection just quite yet. 0-6 at the Ivies and rejected from Duke.

Back in December for ED1 … everyone got an email saying decisions would be available Saturday.

They were actually released around 5pm cst on Friday through the Vandy online portal.

Good luck everyone!

@collegeignorant I got rejected from UPenn, Cornell, and Duke yesterday and I am almost certain the same thing will happen for me today with Vanderbilt, which will make me a failure with all of my reach schools. I guess you just can’t take it personally though. It’ll be okay wherever you go.

I was also faced with a lot of rejections yesterday… I know I should not take it personally, but it hurt a lot…
I just can’t bare to read another rejection letter… ah well life goes on…
hope everyone hears good news tomorrow!

Does vandy send out an email telling you decisions are ready? I don’t want to be obsessively checking my MyVU portal all night tonight haha.

“This year was extremely competitive for some of the Ivies, with Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Cornell University all recording their most selective admissions classes ever.”

It was a particularly bad year to apply to U of Penn.
In 2012-2013 U of Penn total applicants 31,283, In 2014-2015 total applicants 35,788 up 12.1%! And the number they admitted went DOWN. In 2012-2013 total admitted was 3830 and in 2014-2015 the total admitted was 3551. The admit rate dropped to 9.9% (the admit rate last year was 12.2%).

My S was waitlisted and we’re happy with the result given the stiff competition. Of course would’ve been happier if he was accepted. At this point we’re prepared for anything from Vandy. If they had the same increase in apps as U Penn then it’s going to be a blood bath. Good luck to everyone. May the odds be ever in our favor THIS TIME.

@neonpinklime

I heard that the overall stats at Vandy were pretty much in line with last year. Also, part of what happened with Penn was an increase in ED admissions (accepting 54% of the class).

I received rejections from Harvard and Yale, but was accepted at Dartmouth and waitlisted at Duke. It’ll be interesting to see how Vandy plays out, but in the end, whatever the outcome, I know I’ll be happy and can be successful wherever I end up. I’m sure everyone here will be too best wishes to everyone!

Lol rejected from Yale Dartmouth Duke and Notre Dame. Vandys probably gonna be no different, I can wait for my decision

As of now, I am only considering six schools- Vanderbilt, Richmond, Tulane, Miami, Alabama, and Kentucky. I also have a bunch more acceptances, but to schools that I am no longer considering. I have been rejected by Duke (ED) and Penn (Wharton) and waitlisted by Davidson. I really hope that Vanderbilt comes through for me, though. Psychologically, I don’t want to go 0/3 on the three reaches. And, of course, I really liked the school when I visited and feel that it might be the best fit of any of the schools that I am still considering.

I am so excited to hear! I got rejected at Harvard and Yale yesterday, but I have other options (Northwestern, UNC, and Michigan). At this point, I’m just ready to know. I really hope it’s tonight.

Is Vanderbilt difficult to get in? Is it about the same difficulty as Rice ?

I keep refreshing the vandy blog. It should change to an announcement within the next two hours I would think.

In my experience, Vanderbilt is slightly easier to get into than Duke, slightly harder to get into than Cornell. I don’t have a good comparison for Rice because most people I know who applied to both schools were accepted to both or rejected to both.

My d has down-selected to Alabama, Michigan, possibly Kentucky, and Vandy. Waiting with baited breath. she got accepted to all the others but did not apply to any ivies. good luck to all!

So it comes out 6:00pm EDT today?
