Thanks for the fin. aid help. We signed in with Google and the financial aid award is not there. Maybe we should create a new login w/MyAppVu? We’ll send them an email.

i just want to defend the accepted students forsa second. i got rejected at two ivies yesterday, and i understand the helpless feeling you get when you did everything you could. however, being accepted at vandy today made me realize that some of us generalize a little too much. i work 3 jobs, have financial need, and did not have the abundant free time to dedicate to academic pursuits beyond school itself. in the end, we are all going to get in somewhere, and its going to work out. these schools are crazy competitive, and there’s no way to predict chances or decide if it was fair. so please don’t criticize the accepted students for having daddy’s money and only thinking about school, because plenty of us struggled to get these spots and lived very normal, well rounded lives. i’m just like you.

also, sorry for the typos and lack of capitalization. my low budget android isn’t handling this well.

D was rejected as she anticipated. Now its a choice between Villanova and Lehigh.

Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
Accepted: Marquette, Tennessee, Virginia, Michigan, Vanderbilt (CV Scholar & College Scholar), Stanford
Waitlisted: UChicago, Dartmouth, WashU, Harvard
Rejected: Northwestern, Brown, Columbia, UPenn, Yale, Princeton, Duke

General Comments: Just can’t believe it. Stanford was my best app, but man I never expected to get into my top school and not get into so many others.

Accepted to Engineering!!
First of all, I would just like to say that I was VERY surprised when I saw that I was accepted. I just got rejected from Rice, NU, and WUSTL, so my expectations were pretty low. This significantly cheered me up, even though I still can’t afford to attend!

Question: Is the financial aid notification on VUportal final? Or is there a possibility of getting more scholarships in the near future?

[ b]Decision: Accepted - Engineering (insert school)**

[] Strengths: lopsided with math and science.
[] Weaknesses: i’m not a great writer.
[] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: i focused on my strengths in my application. i let them know why i want to be an engineer, and don’t just want to go to vanderbilt because it’s a “good school.”
[] Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: Rejected at every ivy, duke, stanford, mit, rice, berkeley. into Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Tulane, UCSD, UCLA.
[/list]General Comments: Yesterday was tough, took rejection after rejection right to the chin. Vanderbilt is the light at the end of the tunnel for me. VU slowly emerged from my colleges as an outstanding environment. Couldn’t be happier with how my decisions turned out, even after the emotional trauma Ivy Day brought. Best of luck to everyone!

@holyguacamole I didn’t apply for aid, but I’d guess it’d be in the estimated cost area?

Also, how do you view the major you were selected into?

Since when does being white help a guy get into an engineering program? i’m trying not to ask myself that, but maybe gpa? it all worked out in the end, anyways

I’m pretty sure this is all the aid I’m getting That’s okay though.
@vandorebilt18 why’d you flip your gender and race? haha

Oh and I think your major is in your acceptance letter on the first page

@holyguacamole for me it just says school of engineering :o
it would have been too much of a burden to go back and fix the mistake from my phone! probably still wouldn’t be posted yet if i did…

Hmm… Yeah you’re right. Well, I think it’s safe to assume you got your first choice engineering if it doesn’t say otherwise? Which engineering major did you apply for?

Might as well do this now:
