******OFFICIAL****** Vanderbilt RD Class of 2017 Decisions

Yes. does vanderbilt email? or only regular snail mail

i got this on Jan 22:
Thank you for applying for admission to Vanderbilt University through our Regular Decision plan. Your application is complete and ready for review. We will mail decision letters by April 1, 2013.

I think that is a customary reply for domestic students. If they really mail the decisions, but not email it simultaneously, then I will get the letter probably after two months (yeah two months if regular mail and 20 days if FedEx)

They will post on their admissions blogs when decisions have been mailed. Hopefully that post will be made today!

then I will get the letter probably after two months (yeah two months if regular mail and 20 days if FedEx)

where in the world do u live? it takes 5 days for FedEx to reach india.

Accepted as an international student applying for aid, hence an earlier notification. Really happy, this is an excellent school! Very generous aid package as well. Looking forward to August!

I think international students are supposed to revive and email the same day that letters are sent out so hopefully domestic decisions are coming soon

That would make sense a
keeping with the pattern from last year. Hoping they are in the mail for answers next week!!

Sent from my SGH-T769 using CC

According to PakiRootsian, the Internationals, who applied for aid and admitted are informed through email. But other than Pakistani applicants, no other Internationals are informed about the decision as I could guess from the cc threads.

How only pakistani applicants got the decision so early?

Thanks PakiRootsian for your information.

there goes my last college down the drain. Now I won’t have much education. I thought I could make it at least to small LACs … coz I thought I was a good applicant. My essays sounded good and academics were best…

I am so angry at myself and am cursing the very moment when I thought of applying to US, as an international student asking full-aid… Damn!!!

I’m an international applicant and I still haven’t heard anything. Could be that Vanderbilt is only accepting Pakistani students… ;D

Nothing on the admissions blog since March 5th :frowning: Hoping that letters were mailed Friday or yesterday…just so that DS receives it before we leave for vacation. Still hoping that our trip home will include an ADMITTED student tour and 'Dore for a Day visit :D

They posted on the blog that the letters were shipped today.

The stats they posted have left me speechless. Wow.

@north2south
yeah exactly i cant even think of gettin accepted now

@JRswish
Their SAT scores are through the roof… like the middle 50% goes up to an 800!! That’s insane.

exactly and the class ranks and whatevers in the paragraph below the stats omg shudders

“Average rank in class: 3.39%*” what does this mean exactly?

I find it difficult to believe that the middle 50% ranges up to 800. Where could that possibly put the top 25%? I don’t think that whatever was written on the blog is completely accurate.

The average class rank is somewhere between 3 and 4. When doing the math, the number did not round out to be a whole number, like how the average number of children per household in the US is 2.5
