Official Vanderbilt University Fall 2012 Transfer Thread

I got my acceptance on Friday, and my fin aid on Saturday. I was contacted a week earlier to fill out this monthly expenses thing. I also missed the priority deadline by a week or so. My EFC is nearly 0 as well.

I hope you’re right because my EFC was pretty low as well, and I didn’t receive an email since I was missing a transcript at the time.

Accepted yesterday! CAS. I go to Colgate currently.

HS: 3.85ish
College: 3.9 (still only a freshman)
SAT: 1480 (2200)
ECs: Just a few clubs, nothing over-the-top impressive here. Finance, Trading, Entrepreneurial, and club baseball. Also host a radio show on campus.

Congrats and best of luck to everyone!

QUESTION! I am concerned about the May 8th deadline. I’m just going to call the admissions office tomorrow, but does anyone know anything about Vandy’s policy regarding extensions? I have two other places I want to hear from and, more importantly, haven’t visited campus yet. Understandably, my parents didn’t want to burn cash on the airfare until I knew I was in, but the semester doesn’t even end for me until May 11th…

@transfer 217 Thank you! Im so relieved to hear that!

Eh, nevermind about my question. I’ve seen and heard all I need to. Deposit outgoing!

@klarson10, Please post whatever answer they give you. I’m in a similar situation. Vanderbilt is among my very top choices, but I’d still rather know what cards I have in my hands before I make the final decision. I suppose I might put down the deposit and then not attend after all, but it’d be a shame to waste $400 (well, it would not be a waste in that it would buy time and peace of mind, but you know what I mean).

@Kvasek, I posted “deposit outgoing” a little while ago, but that was premature. I’d prefer not to submit a deposit just so I can hear back from other places. As with you, Vanderbilt is among my top choices and I too would like to have all my options on the table, so I’ll let you know what I hear.

What am I supposed to do if I haven’t heard back yet about my admission?

Wait longer…

How many people applied to more than just Vandy?

Accepted. letter came over the weekend. From MA but got the letter at school in NY

Stats:
41st ranked liberal arts college
3.81 college gpa
2.95 HS gpa
2120 SAT
ECs: 2 time league all star in basketball in high school, other sports. Lots of volunteer work in college.

only heard from 2/4 of my schools so far so not sure if im attending or not.

@boymom5

Im applying to 3 other schools. NYU, Notre Dame, and Northwestern.

This is torture…

@boymom5

I applied to Northwestern as well. Vandy was my number 1 though.

Do they sent out decision letters every Tuesday? or Friday?

@Matisyahu

I believe they sent out decisions on Tuesday of last week but that does not mean they can change the day of week they decide to mail decisions.

I believe that I may email my counselor today to see if my application is still under review because I was informed that my application was complete in early March.

I typically do not get worked up over anything but this wait is getting to me. :(

For all of you that got accepted,

what date did u get the email saying your app is complete and ready to be reviewed?

I was accepted and I never got that email. A couple weeks ago I called them to make sure mine was complete after other people had gotten the email and they told me it was complete. (I submitted my app February 1st.)

I called the financial aid office and they need more documents so it looks like I’m going to have to wait a couple weeks until all those documents can be sent :frowning: In other words, I don’t know if I’ll be able to go until I get my financial aid!

Is it going to take you a couple of weeks to send in all the documents they asked for? They requested more forms from me and a week after I sent them in I got my financial aid statement
