congrats npat89! I got by decision yesterday…wait listed :expressionless: I’m not giving up hope but its not the decision i wanted a day before my chem and calc final lol. Do you guys know how many students they pick off the wait list? like what percent?

“Last year, 5,518 students were offered a spot on the waitlist; 1831 accepted spots; 212 were admitted from the list. The number of people who will be accepted this year will just depend on the yield from the number accepted from EDI, EDII, and regular decision. They can only put 1600 freshman in the Commons, so they keep the class to a tight 1600. You’ll have to wait until early May to hear when they start opening up waitlist spots.”

I found this in this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vanderbilt-university/1310056-waitlisted.html

2011-2012: 5,518 Waitlisted; 1,831 Accepted spots on waitlist; 212 Admitted (11.6%)
2010-2011: 5,023 Waitlisted; 1,733 Accepted spots on waitlist; 323 Admitted (18.6%)
2009-2010: 4,036 Waitlisted; 1,770 Accepted spots on waitlist; 117 Admitted (6.6%)
2008-2009: 3,109 Waitlisted; 1,390 Accepted spots on waitlist; 202 Admitted (14.5%)
2007-2008: 1,510 Waitlisted; 719 Accepted spots on waitlist; 3 Admitted (0.4%)

Average: 3,839 Waitlisted; 1,489 Accepted spots on waitlist; 171 Admitted (11.5%)

@Calligraphy I think thats the overall number from all applicants. I think being a transfer applicant an being waitlisted yields higher chances of acceptance. Someone actually posted something about it on this thread, so you can just scroll back a few pages shahzeb.

I think it is about 58 percent

I know one person who has been accepted as a transfer, but will not attend.

Anyone else still waiting?

D hasn’t heard…finishes finals tomorrow & would like to figure all this out!

I wonder if we can call for decisions?

Called last week & gal who answered wouldn’t tell me anything…just wanted to see if a decision had been mailed or if app was still in review.

Called today, the woman told me they mail decisions every friday.

Nothing again today…

nothing here too, so frustrating, I have a bad feeling about my decision since I have been waiting for it way too long.

Does anyone know the odds(%) of being accepted off of the wait list?

Still waiting!! Ahhh!

Accepted and likely attending! So excited
For those who haven’t heard yet I suggest sending your counselor an e-mail to see if your decision has been made and if it has been sent out yet. I did this and it turned out my decision letter had gotten lost in the mail. Since it had been over a week after they sent out my letter at that point they were able to tell my decision over the phone, and then sent me a new letter that day.

Got my letter a few weeks ago and have already turned in my deposit. Thought app was complete early March, but was missing college report until around April 2.

College GPA: 3.93 (15 Hours, 1st Semester, mainly honors courses)
ACT: 29
HS ECs: Bowling Captain, 250+ volunteer hours, etc.
College ECs: Honors College, Volunteer work, sorority
VU Legacy

Any idea when they would start accepting the waitlisted students?

^ It’ll be a while. They have to send everyone their decisions first and see who puts a deposit down before they start accepting people from the waitlist. I just emailed my adviser and my application hasn’t even been reviewed yet :(

transferkid44 - when did you have complete?
