One last thing everyone. Vandy only gives around 2 weeks for a reply. I found out in mid April last year and had to decide before all schools told me of their decisions. Though they give a week or two extensions, I wasn’t given a long extension. So, keep that in mind when applying so you’re not stunned if/when you’re in that predicament.

I was a little confused by Vandy’s site - do I have to turn in a common application mid-term report and ACT/SAT scores if I’m a transfer student? (I’m a sophomore now so I will be a junior next year)

What about high school transcript?

Thanks!

I heard Vanderbilt is racist towards Asians. (not admissions, the people)

abcde09 - The Application Checklist for transfer students, which can be found here, doesn’t say anything about a mid-term report, so I don’t plan on sending one.

It does, however, state that both SAT/ACT scores and high school transcript(s) need to be sent.

But http://admissions.vanderbilt.edu/quickguide/ this says you have to include mid-term report and no ACT/SAT? This is why I’m confused lol

Transfer only need to if requested by vandy. That most likely mean you are borderline.

@ Matisyahu – I think this is an overgeneralized and unfounded statement. I’m Asian and I have never felt discriminated upon at Vanderbilt.

Also, as for the AP credit question mentioned previously, I got 21 credits for my AP courses, in addition to credit for classes I took at my previous university. It really depends on what college you are studying in (i.e. A&S, Blair, Peabody, etc).

Did anyone get a brochure in the mail from Vanderbilt? It was basically just one of those generic come-visit-our-school-and-these-are-the-majors-we-offer kind of thing. I was wondering if they give that to all students who apply…

Hi everyone, I transferred into Vandy last fall. In case you were wondering, Vanderbilt accepted 31.7% of its transfer applicants last year (366/1151) according to collegeboard.com. If you have any questions regarding the transfer process, feel free to pm me. Good luck everyone!

Has anyone confirmed that their application is complete (materials and all)?

I just received an email today saying that my application is complete.

Was it that you submitted your Common Application and Supplement?
Or was it a 2nd email saying that they have your high school grades, SAT scores, and instructor evaluations.
