Lol oh dear.

HS GPA: 3.9 UW, 4.18 W (highest possible: 4.33)
ACT: 33 (36/34/30/32)
SAT: Lol, bad.
SAT II’s: Didn’t bother. That’s the beauty of the ACT, and for all the schools that require them regardless: not worth applying to.
Rank: Didn’t rank, but top 10% (which is the highest they’ll ever report)
HS EC’s: Latin Tutor, Swimming, Water Polo, Filipino Cultural Group at local church, camp counselor for children with muscular dystrophy
HS Awards: Nat’l Latin Exam Summa Cum Laude for 2 years, Cum Laude for 1 year, and Maxima for 1 year (gold, gold, HM, silver). Top student in AP Biology (11th grade) and Latin/AP Latin (9th, 10th, and 12th grades)
AP: All 5s (Latin, Bio, Calc BC, Stats, US History)

College GPA: 4.0 (thank GOODNESS Vandy doesn’t need the Mid-Term)
EC’s: School newspaper contributor, Honors College newsletter editorial contributor, LGBT club, Filipino Student Association
Awards: Dean’s List

18 credit hours last semester, and 18 this one (max. amount freshmen can take per semester)
Includes science courses w/labs (Chem, calc-based Physics), a few upper-level literature classes, and a few social sciences – the school might not be liberal-artsy, but I’m trying my best to make it that way for me.

Honestly, my EC’s are what’ll kill me (and possibly my essay; compared to freshman year, it’s completely lackluster in my eyes). Every single leadership position in all my clubs/orgs are reserved for upperclassmen only, so I’m worried I’ll be seen as average compared to everyone with leadership status.

I want to transfer because a) school’s too big, b) it’s a commuter school, so the campus feels apathetic and lonely, c) more challenging academics, d) humanities and arts are really weak. I’d be a bit nicer, but if you look at the course offerings and internships available (none, btw), it’s pretty clear the school adopts a “liberal arts is bunk” motto, and e) Doesn’t offer the major I want (Classics). I didn’t realize this until after freshman year cycles were over, so I never bothered applying to Vandy. I didn’t exactly see myself as a liberal-arts kind, but I do now. Though my school doesn’t have any Classics courses, I try to make due by coming as close as possible (hence all the lit. courses I’ve been taking and the newspaper), as well as reviewing AP Latin stuff every night on my own.
