Jus FYI everyone, I did not hear back from the general admissions email, and it’s been about 4-5 days. So they’re either just ignoring me, they know I’m in the next round of decisions, etc.

Hopefully a lot of us can have our anxiety reduced by finding out this weekend our admission decision’s fate.

@TransferFall14 I hate when it feels like their just annoying your emails. Lol, I sent my admissions rep an email expressly stating my interest in Vandy and also thanking him for all of the work he did these past couple of months with answering questions. And he hasn’t responded and it’s been a week. I know he’s just busy, but sometimes stuff like this worries me.

@CaptTShannan I refused to email mine because I felt like I was constantly bombarding him with inquiries and additional information statements. So I refrained from emailing him for this basic, general question. However, that’s a good idea about emailing them just for thanking them.

@Juvenis Can you check what time you got the email saying that your decision will be available on Saturday? I’m just going to be refreshing my email all day anyway, but I’d like to have a general idea of when the email is supposed to come haha

@CaptTShannan God I really hope so, but my dad is not happy with the EFC they left us at all. I’m hoping we’ll submit the form for reconsidering the financial aid AND get their response soon enough for me to make a choice. Otherwise I don’t think it’s likely :(

@CaptTShannan Thanks. I just don’t get why our EFC was 5K more than what the NPC showed me. Otherwise my dad wouldn’t be as mad and would actually let me transfer.

The email that notified me of my decision coming the next day is dated 5:09 p.m. April 4

GOOD NEWS GUYS! Maybe I can put your minds at ease. I emailed my admissions counselor with a thank you, and then I basically said that I knew that decisions had been sent out, and was this on a weekly basis or what (because I sort of need to plan accordingly with things that I’m doing here). She emailed me back back yesterday confirming that decisions have already been sent out, that they will be sent on a weekly basis at the end of each week, and that the bulk of decisions will be sent out in the next few weeks. As far as timing of the email, I’m sure we can almost expect them to come after admissions closes. I imagine that they do this so that people don’t bombard them with phone calls after getting that email . I think in the other forum that person just used the words “tiers” interchangeably with groups or waves. I think the idea is to do a manageable number of applications at a time (say 100), and give them two weeks to decide. That way, two weeks later they can send out more acceptances based on those who decided not to go. I also read what the former admissions student guy said and I really doubt that we are divided up by how good we are. At least that’s my hope.

We’re soooooo closseeeeeeeeeeee. Hope I get my email today. But something tells me I won’t haha.

i can’t image only the strongest candidates got in last week. some people probably got rejections. not everyoen had even applied so even though some of the stronger candidates may have gotten in, the date you get it isnt soley off of that

Also, everyone, keep in mind that at least from what it looks like, either no or very few acceptances were made for Peabody applicants yet. This could kind of debunk the whole theory of “tiers” and such.

it’s a bummer you only have 2 weeks to decide. I have until June 1 for Boston university and if I get into Vanderbilt I’d like a chance to visit

I just called the admissions office and they told me that right now, they are accepting transfer students based on there stats (gpa, test scores, letters of recommendation). However, as the admissions process progresses and if the colleges become unbalanced, they will start accepting people based on the colleges that they applied to.

Hey everyone!
First off, congrats to everyone that got in! @ZYRafael, I bet this is a good way to end the week, congrats!
I’ve pretty much read this whole board in the past hour haha. I’m glad to see that there are so many people out there who have the same concerns and anxiety about admittance that I do.
I keep checking every two hours even though I have a feeling I won’t heart for a while (I applied late). Good luck to everyone! Keep posting!

@TransferGirlSoph no that means that right now, they are solely accepting people based on there stats, regardless of the schools they applied to. But if the acceptances to the colleges become unbalanced, then they will start accepting people based on the colleges they applied to (and they’re stats) in order to rebalance the amount of people in each of the colleges.
