@ktmalt95, their website says mid-April, and I’ve noticed in recent years that they have sent them around the 15-18 of April.

Ahh I can’t wait for decisions! Where else is everyone applying to besides Vanderbilt?

@ Celtic02 Vanderbilt is my top and only choice. What about you?

University of Louisville, Indiana University, and Vanderbilt are the three schools I’m applying to for transfer. The website said they have extended the priority deadline to April 15 (to apply) and the first round of acceptances will trickle out on April 18. I’m super nervous. Good luck to everyone!

@theironmaiden, wait. Where did you see April 18?

I don’t think it was stated on the website, but someone from admissions told me that the first decisions were (usually) released on April 18.

@CaptTShannan Vandy is my top choice, but I also applied to Dartmouth and Wash U.

Do you guys know how many waves of decisions there are? I applied in March so I’m guessing I won’t get a decision on April 18th (ish) …?

@Celtic02, from last year’s thread, I gather that they send new decisions every week.

@theironmaiden, I’m hoping for before that since this is the first year they’ve used the portal.

@CaptTShannan

Yeah me too. I’m really nervous about getting accepted. Vanderbilt is my top choice.

@theironmaiden, same.

Honestly it wasn’t at first, but the more I see it the more I like it. It’s a school that slowly creeps in

UGHHHH. If decisions come out on the 18th, then we have 24 days. That’s a long time.

Hi all,
I’ve recently come to the conclusion that I’ve decided to transfer, and I think Vanderbilt is the perfect fit.
If I send in my application this week, and have all my completed materials in by the next week, do you think I still have a fighting chance (considering it’s rolling and they extended the deadline?)
I currently have a 3.3/4.0 (mediocre I know, but calculus was the only class I did badly in), will have 30 credits by the end of this year
HS GPA- 3.5/4.0 ACT-33
Good and varied EC’s in HS and college that reflect my interests
2 strong Letters of Recommendation
Good Common App essay- Vandy specific
Don’t know if this counts during transfer admission but I’m a legacy and have shown much interest in Vandy.
Do you think I have a chance?

@nervousandsuch,

Your stats are pretty good, better than some. I’d say you have a good shot at getting in, but the 3.3 GPA will probably look bad. They might ask you to send a midterm report if you haven’t done that already. Your ACT is pretty high, so that’s good.

I’m actually not sure if the legacy counts or not. It will probably look good, though, because for freshman, it’s “considered” in their decision but not “very important” or “important” according to the CDS.

However, don’t put too much on my comment. I honestly don’t know more than the rest. But I think you have a decent shot at getting in.

How many ECs are you involved with at your college?

I’m involved in about 5 clubs, and worked over the summer between senior year and freshman year. I’m applying to the HOD program, and I think my clubs (one of which I wrote about for my EC essay) reflects the values of HOD, so hopefully it articulates my fit.

Also, how much do you think the late timing will affect me since the deadline is comng up and I’m assuming most applicants have already applied?

I don’t think it should. I thought they review all apps that arrived on time for priority review simultaneously.

@Juvenis @nervousandsuch

I think that used to do it like that, Juvenis, but I’m not so sure this year. I contacted Vandy to ask them if our decisions would be later than normal due to the priority deadline being pushed back and they said that they would start sending decisions mid-April (so like the 15th-18th). By that logic, they can’t view all of the priority deadline apps simultaneously or we definitely wouldn’t be finding out mid-April, more like mid-May.

@CaptTShannan Well that’s scary, hopefully it won’t affect me too much! Luckily I will have all of my school things in and my application sent well before the deadline and hopefully they will have everything process before April 15th.
