-Comments-
Congratulations to everyone! I’m looking forward to seeing you all in Nashville! For those of you who were disappointed, chin up- you’ll end up where you were meant to be, though it’s too bad they can’t accept us all.

I know this is a dumb question, but is it too late to apply for financial aid? I mean I alerted them I wanted finaid, but I haven't submited the CSS profile.

hey for all those who applied ed to vanderbilt from far way such as the north east... how did u decide to apply ed to vanderbilt... did u visit the school or just had the feeling vandy was the school for u... im from ny and due to travel issues never got to visit vanderbilt ... i wanna apply ed 2 to vanderbilt but im not sure if its a good idea... i absolutely love everything about it though and ithink i would really fit ... my parents on the other hand are telling me apply regular but i wanna apply early and get college process done with... also since i live so far away i havent been able to show interest in the school and im afraid that if i apply regular decision vandy may think that im just applying to it cause its just another application fee and nothing else especially since it has no supplement. im afraid that may result in a denial and i dont wanna get denied since its basically my first choice
also some where on this tread some one mentioned a why vanderbilt essay.... i never found that on the supplement ... is that some kind of adittional material we have to submit or is it just optional thing which that particular person decided to do

Accepted

I was so surprised to see it in the mail today, I thought since it was going across the country I would not see it until Fri.

Congrats TwilightVeritas! I told you you were gonna make it.
Congrats

Thank you so, so much Alaster27 (you have no idea how much you calmed me down when you told me that a few days ago, seriously)! Congratulations to you too; ha, we're all going to take Nashville by storm!

Arlington91: I would really, really advise you to visit before you apply ED (you also said you haven't yet expressed interest in the school; sign up for information from the school website ASAP or try to go to one of the regional meeting things, that's a great, travel-free way to get in touch). A visit can really change your mind- I was originally going to apply early to Wake Forrest, but I visited and hated it, while visiting Vandy bumped it immediately to the top of my list. And about the "Why Vanderbilt?" essay: I heard about that for the first time on one of these boards a few days ago, so don't get to panicky about it.

Califkid90000, you just made my day. we have IDENTICAL stats and im applying RD

Arlington91 - My S just got in today and we are also from the northeast. We did travel to Nashville last spring and of course, he fell in love. Vandy offers everything you would want in a University - perfect size, great academics, nice area, very fun city in Nashville, great sports, brand new beautiful freshman dorms, housing for 4 years, the list goes on and on. My son also saw/applied Wake, BC, Georgetown, UVA, UNC-CH (all the regular suspects) and was able to find something he disliked about each of those but was never able to find fault in Vandy. I understand your parent's hesitation for the binding application, but on the other hand it does give you a slight bump in the process. Also, I think I read somewhere that Vandy does NOT "track interest" but obviously applying ED shows the greatest interest possible.

i actually did sign up for the information from vanderbilt website and have been getting information constantly... i have a friend who goes there and absolutely loves it and says that i will probably love it also... i just have to pursuade my parents somehow... oh and do u know where i could find info on reginal meetings ... i tried to find it on their website but could not... also i could not find any info on off campus interviews... did u guys all have on campus ones or can i just not find anything on it ... if there is an off campus interview do u if there is any additional form or is it just based on when we submit the application

Most of the regional info sessions are in the fall. You get an email to schedule an interview after you apply.
