OFFICIAL Vassar College Class of 2014 RD Applicants

Hey. I’m from Montana and I’m an RD hopeful!!! I think I want to major in Chemistry…maybe physics.
Does anyone know when we find out?

MTHTH2010, you guys should find out by April 1, earliest March 29, looking at this year’s calendar.

I’m an international student. Vassar sent me an email saying I’m in the admitted student pool. Does this mean I’m in? I applied RD

Cinderella, when did you get this email?

On Feb 15th. Not exactly that they wrote to tell me, but in exchanging some other information, they said so.

I applied RD in mid-October. This is without question my reach school, but one that has great appeal to me. Its picturesque and breathtaking campus is only the icing on the cake to the exceptional education that it offers under its “little ivy” banner. The library is magnificent, a veritable trough of knowledge that has me, a prospective history/poly sci. major, drooling over the possibilities. Let’s cut to the chase: I know i will be receiving my decision circa April 1st, an excruciating wait March shall be, so i’m seeking some feedback regarding the chances of my acceptance. I am ranked 7th out of 440, have an unweighted GPA of 4.0, ACT of 28, SAT(highest individual scores) of a 2010(CR:760 M:550 W:700). I have taken a rigorous course load, including many college-level classes, but a glaring blemish on my App. is the abscence of APs and SAT II’s. My EC’S are substantial, including NHS and Spanish H.S., Vol Jr. Fire Dept, mentoring, marching band, and numerous job experiences. I’m banking on my essay to blow them away, but I don’t think my rank and GPA are enough to compensate for the SAT/AP weaknesses(The SAT math score puts a damper on everything). Sorry about the length, but what do you guys think?

Oh I forget to mention that I’m a male(I’m aware that Vassar is attempting to balance their gender ratio, so at least that’s in my favor) from New York.

I assume you are submitting your ACT score with writing rather than the SAT score, since Vassar requires two SAT II’s if not submitting the ACT. Good luck!

so excited!

NOoooOOo, I got on the wait list!!! Curses! Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
