@Arizona68 I’m not from India so I’m not sure myself. But from what I’ve heard, LACs arent well known around the world. Students looking to study in the United States might be familiar with these top notch LACs, but if we’re talking about the general population, then its likely that a few to no one knows these LACs. Ivy leagues are probably the only universities known in asia(which includes India)
2 days to go! The anxiety is killinggg me
Haha, no way. @incomingfreshmen you are partly right, Ivy Leagues are pretty popular her but a lot of kids who study international curricula apply to LACs; its not uncommon. I’m pretty sure I’m the only one in my city that did ED for Vassar though. I’m absolutely in love with it, ugh. I not sure how I’ll deal with it if i don’t get in.
You’re right but my grades aren’t the best part of my application. They’re nothing special. I’m super dependent on my ECs and Essays.
“I’m absolutely in love with it, ugh. I not sure how I’ll deal with it if i don’t get in.”
- I feel the same way @faraar . But dealing with rejections is also part of this process. What are your backup schools though?
I’m not sure yet. I have a bunch of places in mind though, allmost all LACs but nothing set. My ED2 is Wesleyan and I applied to University College Utrecht and Sciences Po. I really like them too. Wbu?
Same here. In fact, I’ve been only looking at LACs.
It seems you’re looking at colleges in Europe too.
30ish hours ughhh. I really hope we get in :’)
(!!!)
The decisions will be out as soon as it becomes 5 pm est time right?
Vassar began using “close of business day” in 2014. Since then, kids have first reported access to their decision at 4:56pm that year, 4:16pm in 2015, and 4:27pm last year. It had been after 11am in prior years.
Imagine what it used to be like having to check your mailbox. Kids were getting decisions over periods of a week.
Ah, how I miss those days.
Jk
If the students of today lived in the past, they’d go crazy waiting. :))
@CGCC20 so you mean the results are likely gonna be out before 5pm right?
For a friend of my daughter who got in ED at Wellesley last week, they got notified at 6pm. I suspect the Admissions folks want to be able to close shop and be away from the phones once the decisions go out.
@incoming: According to posts here on CC, kids were notified for the past four years a week or less of the ED1 decision date, adding that the time was “at close of business”. The times I posted were from the past ED1 threads. I’m an ED2 looking in from the outside, but I’d be refreshing my portal every 5 seconds beginning at 4pm tomorrow.
Yeah I plan to do that.
Ditto. Hahahaha
Because I believe (sort of) in karma, I hope everyone in this thread gets in tomorrow, even though each will be one less spot for me. I truly sort of mean that Twenty-four hours and counting for you guys.
Can’t believe we’re going to know so soon!! I haven’t even told my parents I’m so nervous
Almost 10 hours left!! My heart is pounding so hard right now…
I can’t focus on anyyything else. Around 8 hours to go! Good luck everyoneee
