Official Vassar Early Decision II Thread

after how many days did u guys get yours?

I got my vassar ID a week and a half after I submitted my commonapp.

Dos anyone know if Vassar has published their dates for admitted students to visit? I cannot find it on their website.

I’m very nervous/excited. Intellectually, I know I don’t have a huge chance, but I’m still hoping…

I’m quite nervous as well. I hope I made the right decision with EDII

Hey everyone! I was just wondering if there was anything indicating that you are EDII on your account for Vassar? It says that everything is received but the message on the top seems generic to all applicants. I’m just paranoid that they might have put me in regular decision.
Thanks!

I wouldn’t worry about it. It is indicated on the Common App and on your supplement, so I don’t think anyone slips through the cracks.

I applied RD and I don’t see anywhere on my Vassar account that they would add something for EDII applicants (and if they did I think it would would say RD somewhere for RD applicants).

Your application is in. All that’s left to do is wait.

Hey all,

Since some of you were wondering about Statistics of admitted applicants under the Early Decision I round, I thought I will share mine…

Applicant Status:
International Student

Financial Status:
No Financial Aid required

Standardized Test (s):
SAT I -
Critical Reading (790)
Math (800)
Writing (640)
Total - 2230

SAT II -
Physics (780)
Math (800)
Chemistry (800)

Both of these SATs were all first time tries, I am not sure how it factors though! :)

Regular Academics:
I come from one of the best schools in my country and I have taken all the hardest courses available, but we don’t use a GPA system… In any case, due to the rigor of the courses, they don’t look good… On paper at least! Haha!

Enrichment Activities:
I play on the school orchestra and I am in the school golf team. I have also participated and won in a few national and international speech and debate competitions… Not the best of enrichment activities in my school, but I will still call it decent first!

All right then, that’s about it, all the best to all of you here! You can message me or leave a post here if you need help! Cheers! :)

Regards,

Hey guys, how long were your why Vassar essays? I think mine was overdone - it’s 2 pages double-spaced with a few extra lines.

Oh and is being Asian considered a minority, or…

I wrote a little under one page, single spaced.

I just used the 500 word CommonApp essay box to make it easier for admission’s people.

Asian technically is a minority, but it is heavily stereotyped and many believe it isn’t necessarily a positive thing in admissions

did you guys send a mid-year report?
Do we have to?
Mine will not be available until February! what should I do?

@Tunisian You only needed to send your quarter year report for EDII since you will probably know the decision before your midyear report comes out :)

I know it says late January for EDII, but is there usually an exact date anyone knows about?

January 13th is the official date, but I emailed them and said that wouldn’t be possible because there is no quarterly report and mid year doesn’t come out until later this month so they said it could be late…so i dont think that date carries much weight so your probably fine

I applied ED II last year and I heard back from Vassar on January 28th.

@Chess12 Thanks for letting us know! I hope it’s the same for us too! That would be so awesome to know in less than 2 weeks :O

Awesome and a little scary! (Although I think I’m already mentally prepared for rejection haha)

11 more days left? :s

10!
