Hi Softball Fan - my daughter has just started her freshman year at a competitive high school in NYC and is an avid softball player (she just joined an 18u Gold softball team in NJ. that has an aggressive travel schedule). When I saw your posts, it sounds like your daughter started the college recruitment process young as well. My daughter has attended a few Ivy camps already and is serious about playing in college. The one thing I am getting conflicting information about at this stage is how to correctly “get on the radar.” I am unclear if she should be sending introductory emails to coaches at this point stating her interest and upcoming tournament schedule. As of now, she doesn’t have a GPA or test scores obviously. Any thoughts you can share about your daughter’s process to get her name out there freshman and sophomore year would be greatly appreciated as my daughter is interested in playing Ivy or academic/competitive D3. I very much appreciate all of the helpful comments you received on this particular thread regarding the process junior and senior year.
@SoftballFan wasn’t sure if you’d read my message above, if I didn’t tag you… so am trying that
