Nope, my friends usually chose another school over Hopkins. However, its one of my top choices, so we’ll see.
4) Did anyone from your school apply ED to JHU? how did they do?
One student applied ED and got into BME. Another got rejected and a third got deferred.
5) Now that it’s March, do you wish you applied ED a little bit?
Nope. Like the chance to choose between schools.
6) Did you think the Hurt Locker deserved best picture?
Yes. Plot was much better then Avatar. Still, I think James Cameron should have won Best Director.

So airegin, you coming to Rochester or not? We still beat Baltimore for snow. 89.6 inches and 2 months to go.

1) change of scenery & the east coast vibee… I need to leave the midwest

5) no, I don’t like to be tied down too early… not gonna lie, I enjoy the excitement of choosing a school
6) I haven’t seen the Hurt Locker nor all of the other choices (i did enjoy Avatar - good message) so I don’t think I can say. But I really want to see How to Train Your Dragon. My boyfriend keeps making fun of me for it, but w/e it looks like a good clean comedy NOT like hottub time machine!

1) What are you looking forward to most about Hopkins if you enroll
Their neuroscience department
2) Name a place you really want to travel to/Study Abroad
Japan
3) Do you know anyone at Hopkins?
Yes, a freshman in BME
4) Did anyone from your school apply ED to JHU? how did they do?
Nope
5) Now that it’s March, do you wish you applied ED a little bit?
No.
6) Did you think the Hurt Locker deserved best picture?
I haven’t seen all of the choices, so can’t fairly judge! But def not Avatar.

@SummerUdad, I have emory as my top choice now, mainly because they gave me a larger scholarship, plus the Georgia Hope scholarship, and I also chose Emory as my top choice college for National Merit, adding another 2k.

I’m not expecting much money from Johns Hopkins, but I’d still like to get accepted.

1) Research, meeting the people
2) Somewhere in Africa… Swaziland? Malawi? hmm
3) Nope
4) Nope
5) Yea a bit… haha. Can’t stand all the waiting!!!
6) Not at all!!

I got rejected from NYU, waitlisted ND, and accepted Emory.
This result goes against the college rankings…lol

Undergraduate admissions is a crapshoot. I know someone from my school who got into Columbia last year but waitlisted at Hopkins.

1) What are you looking forward to most about Hopkins if you enroll

[ul]
[li] New experience in another part of the country as well as a combination of International Relations major + pre-med.[/li][/ul]
2) Name a place you really want to travel to/Study Abroad

[ul]
[li] Galapagos Islands during winter intersession  among other palces.[/li][/ul]
3) Do you know anyone at Hopkins?

[ul]
[li] No, no one that I know of has gone to Hopkins.[/li][/ul]
4) Did anyone from your school apply ED to JHU? how did they do?

[ul]
[li] Haha, I did and i was deferred. Now I have 5 other people from my school applying with me because I opened my mouth back in September talking about Hopkins. We’ll see what happens.[/li][/ul]
5) Now that it’s March, do you wish you applied ED a little bit?

[ul]
[li] Yes, because Hopkins was and still is my #1 choice.[/li][/ul]
6) Did you think the Hurt Locker deserved best picture?

[ul]
[li] I think Hurt Locker was a really good movie. Best picture though? I’m not sure. I haven’t seen Avatar yet so I can’t exactly judge. However, I find it quite funny that James Cameron’s ex-wife was the director of The Hurt Locker and she won best director over him. Haha.[/li][/ul]

ONE MORE DAY!!!

less than 24 hrs to go

1) Research, and possibly BME :)

2) Geneva (CERN), or Oxford.

3) Not at the moment, but I may know some people from CTY if they get in.

4) No one ED, but a few for RD.

5) I definitely would have applied ED if I knew it wasn’t binding if I didn’t get into BME.

6) Absolutely not. Avatar will change the film industry forever. Something that revolutionary deserves best picture.
