wwjbd24. ^^^^^^ im taking your advice! thanks for a good idea haha. now i can think about what movie im gonna watch instead of “The Email” :)

@wwjbd24: That was actually incredibly helpful. Wait, so you don’t suggest getting on the computer or watching a movie?

1 hour, 22 minutes.

I’m working on homework and then I’m cleaning my room. Whenever I clean time passes REALLY quickly.

What’s so sad is that the more excited I get right now, the more depressed I’m gonna be when I find out that I was rejected/waitlisted.

sorry i know this is a stupid question but
can we jsut login to our portals to get out decisions? or are they emailed to us

@hope
They are emailed.

1 hour, 8 minutes, and counting!

jennifermatsui- do whatever you want, just distract yourself! i just find when im watching a movie i split the screen and get distracted with facebook, etc. which inevitably leaves me checking email. i would suggest engrossing yourself in whatever you do: go play some lax with your sibling (yea i love lax, doesnt help that it’s hopkins!) or what i did, make a twitter or something!

maybe try putting a sticky note over the time on your comp if you constantly check the clock

wej- nice strategy, i think with cleaning you may be in the minority though!

blademaster- get off CC! it’ll make everything a bit easier if you’re not comparing yourself once people start posting their results!

also for those wondering, i got my email within 5 minutes of 7pm, which was really nice, i thought i’d have to wait for an hour or more!

thank you!

I’m a junior and went on a tour today. They were sending apps out at 7 PM EST, and they said they had an estimated 19% admit rate this year, FYI.

Wow 19%!
That’s on par with Georgetown I think.

I think like… just 3 years ago the acceptance rate was in the 30’s.

Just about an hour left ( :

@wwjbd24: That is so true! Thanks :)

nah, 3 years ago i applied and acceptance rate was 24%. i think my year was the most competitive in history but now that record will be shattered.

Records were shattered in many places this year. :/

Haha then strike what I said before ( :

Yeah. This year has been just… insane.

I’m pretty sure we’re the largest high school class in history and next year’s class is smaller. Yay for us!

apparently this year’s acceptance rate at duke rivaled that of harvard last year! go figure…

Any schools in the 10-20% range are crazy selective, and Hopkins I imagine is in that range this year. With 18,500 applications and 494 admitted ED for a class of 1200 or so… RD will be rough. Good luck to all - JH is a fantastic place to spend four years!

I’m getting really nervous…only 45 minutes left!!!

Harvard’s acceptance rate last year was 7%.
Duke’s acceptance rate this year is 14%.

Close… but there’s still definitely a difference between 7 and 14%.

Again - I second what a lot of other people have been saying about admissions… the fact that its so easy to apply to 15+ schools with common app, and the fact that private universities especially have really ante’d up in getting students to apply through e-mails, brochures, etc.

Anyway. Que sera sera!

Well, while ya’ll wait, I’m going to take a nap because I already know I’m rejected! :D
