<p>LOL well if I get rejected from Columbia (which is my absolute top choice) I’ll be super-depressed b/c I’m part of the SHP so I’ll have to go there every Saturday and be constantly reminded of what I’m missing :(</p>

<p>I don’t have much hope either. I was also waitlisted and Northwestern, University of Chicago and Pomona. I was accepted at Berkeley but it was a “deferred admission” for the spring semester; I hate that word: DEFERRED!!! I was deferred ED at columbia. Can they waitlist deferred students? because if I get waitlisted at columbia I really might go crazy! I can’t handle all this WAITINGGGGGGGGGGG UGGHHHH</p>
<p>Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure it’s possible for ED-deferred students to be waitlisted too. Here’s hoping that doesn’t happen to you though!</p>

<p>I’ve been accepted to all my safeties and either waitlisted or rejected from my “target” schools. Columbia, my favorite for a long time and a major reach, what else could I say to you? April 1st, 5pm…bring it on.</p>

<p>I’m nervous, but I tell myself that even if I don’t get in, I’ll be happy at Northwestern too. And if I still really love Columbia, Imma pull out those transfer applications :)</p>
<p>you guys shouldn’t give up hope. just because you didn’t get into schools that are ‘easier’ to get into than Columbia, that doesn’t mean you WON’T get into Columbia. maybe those schools thought you might not fit in, and Columbia does think you’ll fit in! it’s different, really. </p>
<p>colleges don’t accept the same people every time, so the same people who got into Duke or UChicago may be rejected from Columbia and vice versa.</p>

<p>Penn/Columbia are my top choices. I was deferred ED at Penn but I was definitely torn between my decision to apply early to columbia and penn. </p>
<p>I am seriously going to cry if I get accepted to either one - and of course, I’ll cry if I get rejected not that it will do anythng lol. </p>
<p>I am currently perusing through last year’s decision threads to give myself a reality check :)</p>
<p>It’s SUCH a relief knowing that in just a few hours we will have an answer one way or another. I’m a OOS finalist for a full ride Robertson Scholarship at UNC Chapel Hill, and I’ve been trying to get excited about that so I can forget about my first love…Oh, Columbia, even though you deferred me ED, my passion for you is unabated. Baby, don’t let me down <3</p>

Thanks! At first I was kind of upset and confused about the spring admit thing but it basically just means you start school at berkeley during the spring semester instead of the fall and during the fall they have a program at cal that you can do which sounds good or you can stay at home at go to a cc or take a gap semester and do whatever! </p>

<p>It’s going to be really hard to give up on my dream. I’ve wanted Columbia since I first visited at age 8. However, as an applicant who looks pretty “average” in terms of numbers, I have almost no chance at getting in. True, my ECs/essays/recs are very strong. But I doubt that will help me here.</p>

<p>I’m currently waiting for 3 ivy decisions today, one of them being Columbia, which has been one of my dream schools for years. Subconsciously know what the outcome is going to be, yet still remaining hopeful because who knows… some miracle can occur. Good luck to everyone!!!</p>
