Well, even though your school doesn't do 5.0 honors, doesn't mean that the UCs won't calculate your GPA that way...

and if you're ELC, they don't put the 8 point limit upon you.

In 2007, people in your GPA/SAT range were accepted at a 44.8% rate. I'd put you at 50/50 though if you want my honest opinion.

i also come from a highschool that has an API of about 832

My high school doesn't have an API. (private school)

wait Snowc1b, was your last post to me?

*From this, UCSB should be easier to get into than Davis this year. We'll see. *

Davis usually always has slightly higher stats among applicants compared to SB, but SB still usually has a lower admission rate because it has more applicants competing for less spaces.

Yeah SB has 44,000 this year and D had 42,000.

I REALLY hope I can get in. And then puruse an ROTC scholarship :/

What do you guys think for me?

2130 Sat
UC GPA 3.64 although real weighted is higher. (stupid gpa!! UGH)
Essays were pretty good. (one about breaking my knee from dance/one about my extra curricular)
5 National/State Awards
EC's were ok to semi good

I got rejected from that stupid cowtown davis.

Yeah SB has 44,000 this year and D had 42,000.

Correct. Also,UCSB also has a targeted enrollment of 4,100 for Fall 2009. I have trouble finding targeted enrollment for Davis, but in 2008 their goal was 5,000 freshman, so even with cuts, it won't drop to UCSB's level.

^Davis only let 4,600 students in this year.

So, from purely a numbers game, SB will be harder to get into .

=/

The number of applicants to UCSB actually dropped this year.

Yes, that was established earlier in this thread. However, as stated above a couple of times, UCSB still has more applicants than Davis and 500 less spaces for freshman.

Santa Barbara received the fourth highest applications in the UC system after Berkeley, LA, SD and ahead of Irvine and Davis.

Yet, SB's applications represented a 5 % decline from the record applications in 2008.

If I got into UCI, is there a good chance I'll get into UCSB?

UCI only got about a 100 less applicants. Besides I heard that UCI was going to cut their admissions more than UCSB...

3 More days!!!!!!!!!

^If I get into UCSB I'm pretty sure I'm going, unless I get into Cal or something like that.

I HOPE I can get in. =/

ram, what are your stats?

Only like 36 hours until decisions are released!

How many of you guys that got accepted are out of state? Just wondering if that was the reason why.

I don't think that's the reason why some have already found out. Some people (regents /president's scholars) were invited to some dinner and found out there.

And ahhhhhhhhh!!! hahaha So close to Monday!!!

^I have ~ UC GPA of 3.88 and 27 ACT, just a couple of ECs, and some volunteer hours.

Rejected from Davis, and into SDSU and UCR thus far.
