Official Waiting Room

hahahaha, true stuff!

i’m listening to coldplay’s “death and all his friends”…wonderfully soothing.

jacks mannequin and the script are awesome but i love a little luda every once in a while too lol

waiting on the world to change - john mayer anybody?

For some reason, I’m listening to Where is my Rose by D-Pryde

Hey guys, sorry to break the music rally, but are you guys all waiting for 8pm or 9pm Central time to see if they will release the results?

Waiting on the World to Change is a great relaxing song. By the way, Jason Mraz is another great artist to alleviate stress. I am not so sure about tomorrow being the day. My college counselor spoke with the regional guy for New Jersey and he implied it would be next week sometime.

does WUSTL send out “likely letters” like a bunch of the ivies?

no, it doesn’t.

Moon&Star, if you don’t mind me asking, what did your deferral letter say? Mine said that they wanted to look at my senior year grades before making a decision. I’m just curious because it seems like some letters tell you why they rejected you while some letters don’t. If you don’t feel comfortable answering, no need to feel pressured!

The great thing about watching this process is - another day another rumor. Try not to pay attention, it just riles people up. What will be will be and it will be clear soon enough.

The whole rumor thing, in my opinion, is almost like a defense mechanism. By getting obsessive over the unimportant details, we can try to take our minds off what’s actually significant, the decision. Unfortunately, this process makes time seem to stretch on for forever, and posting and reading CC can help.

@2010cc-Mine said the same thing. However, correct me if I’m wrong, I think that was what everybody who was deferred received. Or maybe I’m wrong since some people didn’t received that portion of the letter asking about senior grades. They generally said that because everybody will have to turn their mid year report in anyway. I don’t think my GPA played a factor of getting deferred…but I may be wrong.

I think it’s good to not think about this until 5PM tomorrow because I don’t think WashU will post it at a random time like 3:24PM or something like that. So…I’m not going to my Pathway until 5PM tomorrow. :)

Haha awesome!

I would have been way disappointed if I was freaking out in this forum with a bunch of people who don’t get down to Luda.

Anyway - I really do hope it is tomorrow, 2pm PST.

Also… my mom just told me that two months ago, a WashU rep (probably a student), called my house to ask if I had any questions! haha. A little late there, mom.

@moon&star. i was deferred as well. its funny because i remember reading your posts in the early round… its unfortunate that we have had to wait this long! my letter said the same thing about grades and all. anyway, best of luck!

Wooot coldplay!!!

Alright guys, I think we should leave the CC for now. Let’s gather up tomorrow and spend the time together =D see you guys!

Ahhh. You guys make me so nervous. Why do I even log onto CC anymore?! Is it just speculation that the decisions come out tomorrow???

Keep Calm and Carry on.

Especially you, @Moon&Star.

I have a feeling it’s going to be Thursday now…

@Moon&Star, thanks for answering my question!

Best of luck to everyone :)

Here’s some tips and tricks for waiting:

You’ve probably fantasized about attending Wash U before, but try and forget about that for a sec and think about what it would be like to attend the other schools on your list. Get really excited about another school.

Drink tea with mint, chamomile, and stevia, it reduces stress and lulls you to sleep. That time before bed is a great time to weigh your options and get pumped about other schools.

Don’t check the Pathway until you know decisions are up. Lots of nervousness every time you do, but over nothing.

Get busy, go to things after school, and do your homework to the fullest extent, it kills time.

Post on CC, because not only is it good for you, but it gives other people things to respond to.

Listen to Sigur R
