Carnegie Mellon wasn’t my #1 school so I’m not 100% torn up about it, but Rice IS my #1 choice and they are even more selective than Carnegie Mellon, which I couldn’t even get into. So I’m just feeling like crap right now.</p>
<p>I don’t know about you guys, but for me Rice had the most extensive supplement out of all the schools I applied to. It required three supplements in addition to the Common App essay, and one of those supplements was a 2-3 page essay. Maybe this is the reason it’s taking a longer time to release decisions, since the officers had to read an extreme amount of writing.</p>
<p>^pumpfake: The Rice supplement was at least the same length as, and perhaps shorter than, the MIT and Caltech apps, and both schools released two weeks ago.</p>

<p>You guys have it easy. I’ve been looking at past decision threads and almost all the Asian Indians from Texas have been rejections. </p>
<p>And guess who I am: an Asian Indian living in Texas with a sub 2300 score. Not that many ECs either. : /</p>

<p>I’m a bit afraid to post again on here, but, yeah, ds has great packages from three different schools, including two top-ranked LACs, so we feel very fortunate. Of course, Rice has a lot of things the other schools don’t, so we definitely want it to be in the mix.</p>
