Shouldnt this be stickied like the RD acceptance thread?

No, b/c there's a good chance this thread will be very, very short.

^^ LOL (10char)

I said what i did just to see who wanted to be the donkey and make a snide remark like that.

I thought it was pretty cleverly funny :D

Got the email..

Our incoming class remains full, which leaves us with the regrettable task of releasing the vast majority of students from our waiting list so that you may go forward with your plans for the coming year. We are confident that the college where you will matriculate this fall will be made richer by your academic and personal contributions.

*Dear Cindy,

Congratulations! The Committee on Admissions joins me in the most rewarding part of this job informing you that you have been selected for admission to Columbia University in the City of New York. As a member of the Class of 2011, you will be a participant in an academic community wealthy in intellectual and personal talents of every kind. We are fully confident that the gifts you bring to our campus will be unique and valuable and that your abilities will be challenged and developed here.

We hope you will share your joy and excitement with the faculty at your school who have helped you reach this happy day.

Yeah, I got the "we're releasing you from the waitlist" email. It's fine...I've moved on long ago (the second I decided on Wellesley, actually). I'll take the waitlist for what it was for me: confirmation that just a few years ago, I would have made it in. Good luck to those still waiting (as they drag your emotions through the mud!!).

Thanks luce! I got into SEAS. Good luck to those still on the waitlist. :)

yeah, the first year I applied to columbia I got deferred from SEAS (RD), waitlisted, and then extended-waitlisted... and then finally rejected like mid-summer. Which kinda sucked, but I had already pretty much resigned myself to working during a gap year.

The next year I reapplied ED, and got in. So sometimes it can depend on your commitment level to columbia, and columbia specifically. i'm glad I did, anyway. :)

As predicted, Twizzy's on the extended waitlist for SEAS.

Hey Guys, I Just Got The Email And I Got Off The Waitlist!!!
