Official waitlisted thread

Got waitlisted... Anyone waitlisted?

Sigh… me too. Do you know what percent of the waitlisters were admitted last year?

Waitlisted here as well. Sigh. Any idea what chances we have of getting off of it and actually being accepted?

man this totally sucks…me too :frowning: Most likely we won’t be offered admission seeing that so many people have applied

I probably won’t be going to UCLA. Hope one of you fine gentlemen (or ladies) get my seat.

can you guys log into myucla? or does it kick you out?

aha waitlisted here too… SAD DAY

Can you guys list your stats for waitlist people?

I got waitlisted too… Sad day…

Waitlisted too. Why are you all depressed? This is better than a rejection, which is what I was expecting since I didn’t get the engineering likely letter. I’m going to wait it out. BTW, thanks @Ascaris.

I so rather have been rejected

2020 SAT
3.89 GPA
4.5 UC GPA
Strong EC’s
Strong Essays
Guess my app wasn’t strong enough… :(

myucla. id does kick me out.

waitlisted as well  i’m honored to at least get this far, but the wait is going to kill me!!

Waitlisted as well. Sucks…

(Uncapped) UC GPC: 4.42
ACT: 35

Weak EC’s probably killed me…

major: computer science
2280 sat I
800/780/750 sat II in math2 chemistry and physics
3.8 UC GPA

Waitlisted.

Count me in…wait listed. What are the chances of getting accepted off the wait list, does anybody know?:(

Stats:
GPA: 4.29
ACT: 30
Essays and EC : pretty good, but obviously not quite up to par

Well, I hope USC accepts me.

Yes, I accept the Waitlist Option for UCLA. I understand that this is not a guarantee of an offer of admission, but rather an opportunity to be considered for admission if space permits for additional Fall Quarter 2012 applicants after May 1.

So are they telling us to not accept any offers from other UCs, which all require a decision made by May 1st, and wait and see if you got accepted or not off the wait list?
Or, do decisions on what to do with the people on the waitlist come out before that day? I’m not really sure of how the waitlist system works. Does anyone know?

@Seiden: no, you should definitely accept another offer of admission from a school other than UCLA. If UCLA accepts you after May 1st you can withdraw from the other school and submit a SIR (statement of intent to register) at UCLA. Otherwise, if you don’t get accepted off the waitlist for UCLA, you risk not attending college in fall 2012.

Good luck everyone! Apparently this is the first year UCLA has used a waitlist, so it will be interesting how it all works out.

D was also waitlisted:
2310 SAT single sitting
4.33 UC GPA
I’m confused.
She had strong ECs
3 years varsity sports
2 years editor for her magazine
3 years work with a volunteer organization
National Merit Finalist
etc. etc.
She accepted it as well and we will see.
She was also waitlisted by Northwestern.
I have a feeling she will be the Queen of the Waitlist.
