Reflection
•Strengths: heavy/passionate involvement in a small, but consistent set of ECs that mattered to me and essays that reflected this
•Weaknesses: maybe scores
•Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Who knows? I think scores/grades get your foot in the door, and from there on out, how admissions views your profile is pretty arbitrary and will vary from school to school. Good luck to everyone. It’s easy to get your heart set on a given place, but there are many a great schools.

Reflection
Strengths: GPA, Essay, EC’s (I suppose), SAT II’s, very very strong involvement in the Arts and interest in Engineering for a girl (well-rounded student)
Weaknesses: SAT Reading Score, Lack of interest in the school, Slight Drop in GPA after 1st semester senior year (although I don’t think that should be too significant)
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I would not consider myself an overqualified student because my reading score is extremely weak (for an Asian), but I guess I got waitlisted because of that score and that I didn’t show much interest in the school.

General Comments: The Admissions Committee probably knew I wouldn’t go to their school anyways given that I sort of threw in WashU at the last minute after I decided to drop Yale from my list and that I showed little interest in their school (and my parents later explicitly told me they would not let me go to St. Louis even if I got in) so I’m not upset that I didn’t get in (I’m just happy that I didn’t get rejected!) But anyways those that really love the school and worked hard in their high school career really deserve to get in so Congratulations to all those people that got accepted!
