Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): None

Reflection
Strengths: Research, activities that relate to major
Weaknesses: Test scores, not applying for merit scholarships, lack of demonstrated interest
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: I wasn’t what WashU was looking for. I’m sure they have plenty of people who applied with more impressive research than mine. I also think a large part of it was the crap shoot aspect of college admissions.
General Comments: I am perfectly fine with this rejection. I think I would love WashU, but I was already accepted to Notre Dame and would have probably chosen to go there ahead of WashU. This will just make my decision in April easier. Congrats to everyone who got in! And if you were rejected, keep your hopes up! Also a tip for those waitlisted: my friend was waitlisted last year and called admissions and they said that if he would commit they would accept him.
