[] Gender: Female
[]Income Bracket: $50 - $60k
[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Forced to switch high schools for my senior year - which explains my low number of extracurriculars because so many things went down the drain that I had planned. Had to start completely fresh senior year, but a serious upward trend in grades and a great MidYear Report probably helped I suppose. Sent the school multiple transcripts from both places for comparisons and had recā€™s from both schools. Enumerated my unique situation in my Ed Interruption and essay as well. Definitely think that boosted my app a bit.
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Situation mentioned above
[] Weaknesses: Test scores and lack of SAT IIā€™s, didnā€™t apply for scholarships even though I intended to
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Objective stats not high enough.
[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted to State U and two other Texas privates with great merit awards. WUSTL was final notification.[/li][/ul]General Comments:
Thrilled that I was even waitlisted - my stats are certainly not top, pretty low-midrange for WashU. It was absolutely my reach and the only reach I applied to. Pretty sure Demonstrated Interest (visit, tour, 2 night stay, meeting with FinAid office, no interview though) helped bump my app to the waitlist from the reject pile. Itā€™s not my top choice so Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™ll accept the waitlist spot, but congrats to all those who were accepted! Yā€™all deserve it!

Reflection:

Strengths: GPA, Rank, (somewhat) EC
Weaknesses: Standardized Tests

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My SAT scores werenā€™t great, I didnā€™t show much interest (how do you even do that) I mean Iā€™ve applied to about 25 universities, I canā€™t even remember all of their names at onceā€¦

Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted into Valpo ($20,000 scholarship) and Fordham. First rejectionā€¦

GENERAL COMMENTS: Rejection sucks. It seemed like a good university; one I could have attended enthusiastically had I the option. But oh well. Congrats on everyone accepted and all the best to those waitlisted.
